My eyes burn with exhaustion and my head spins with the revelations of the night, but just being in her presence settles everything that’s rioting inside me. I have no idea at what point she started having this calming effect on me, but now I’ve discovered it, I’m getting even more addicted.

The flat is in silence. All I can hear is her shallow, sleeping breaths, my own racing heart, and the blood that is forced past my ears.

Seconds tick away as I sit there. I can’t even really see her in the darkness. But I know she’s there, and that’s enough.

“Were you here last night?”

Her sleepy voice scares the shit out of me as it fills the room. My heart jumps into my throat as I study her shadowed form.

“Yes,” I confess, my mind going back to last night.

Spreading my legs wide, my hand drops to my crotch as my cock hardens.

Hell yeah, I was here last night. And it was as fucking amazing as it was torturous.

Her gasp of shock rips through the air.

“D-did you… did you touch me?” she asks hesitantly.

A wicked chuckle falls from my lips.

“Nico,” she snaps, although there isn’t much fire behind it.

“Do you want me to say that I touched you?”

A whimper I’m pretty sure I’m not meant to hear spills from her, giving me all the answers I need.

“What is it you need, Siren?” I ask, sliding toward the edge of the chair.

“From you? Nothing,” she spits.

“Oh yeah?” I growl. “Are you sure about that?”

“More than sure. I meant what I said, Nico. We’re done. You can sneak in here like a creep all you like. I’m not falling into your trap again. I’m here for my best friend, and that is it. You no longer appear in any of my thoughts.”

“You’re lying,” I state confidently.

“You’re delusional.”

“And you’re a lying whore.”

“Oh, goodie,” she quips. “We’re back to that.”

Pushing to my feet, I move closer, her scent getting stronger as I close in on her, making my mouth water for a taste.

“But there’s no question this time. I know for a fact that you are lying.”

“Bullshit.”

She doesn’t move as I step up beside her and bend over. Planting my hands on the pillow on either side of her head, I get lower until I’m right in her face.

“It’s not, though, is it?”

“We’re over, Nico. I want you to get the hell away from me and leave me alone.” But as she says this, she makes no move to force me to go anywhere. If anything, she only draws me in as her voice gets deeper.

“Is that why you got off last night while screaming my name, Siren? Because you don’t want me?”

Sucking in a sharp breath, her eyes narrow.
