In a swoop of his arms, I was clinging to him, legs wrapped around him and arms digging into his shoulders as he lifted us into the air, cock still buried deep inside of me.

We hung in the air, his wings keeping us afloat as his hands settled on my hips, fucking me as we hovered over Dark Haven.

My body shook and my head fell back, cool air whipping around me as he grinded my clit on him. Soon, I was coming, nails biting into his skin, not caring if I drew blood.

Kol came right behind me, letting out a feral roar into the night as he slammed me down on his cock so hard I knew I’d bruise.

He didn’t drop us back down as our breathing evened out. He said nothing and soon I had to break the silence.

“Are you planning on landing anytime tonight?” I joked. He leveled me with that glowing stare.

“No, I’m forcing my seed so far inside of you that it’ll drip out of you for days,” he hissed. He finally dropped us down despite his words, pulling out of me and grinning as cum dripped down my thighs. His eyes tracked the movement, and I knew that smug look meant he was hoping it wouldn’t go unnoticed by my other men.

“As amusing as this is, I’m going to need to clean up,” I pointed out. He simply pointed to the door, dismissing me and finding it more than a little amusing. “You’re an asshole. Maybe I should call Monty?”

He moved so fast I couldn’t even gasp, his hand wrapping around my throat and squeezing just enough to put me in my place.

“Do not think for a second, mate, that I’ll bow to your demands and your threats,” he ground out, looking more monster than man in this moment. All humanity was gone and all that was left was a terrifying creature ready to punish me for my transgressions.

“And don’t fucking think for a second that I’ll take this,” I bit out. “We may have fucked, but it will be the last fucking time you touch me if this is how you’re going to treat me. Maybe this was acceptable in Helheim, but here? Not. Fucking. Happening.”

“Let go of her,” Monty’s words were low and icy. Each word slung like a dagger in battle. The hand was forced from my throat as shadows wrapped around me, pulling me to my demon’s side.

“You’re not the only monster in these halls, Kol. Fuck you for thinking you could push me around. Fucking me rough is one thing, taking it past that and thinking you can dictate who I talk to and what I allow is another,” I said. “Monty, send me to the library please.”

“Let’s go, little human,” he said, more than a bit smug at saving me from the gargoyle who simply stood there, glaring at us both. “You have a lot to learn about humans. I suggest you figure it out before you find yourself without a ‘mate.’”

Monty whisked us away before he could respond, and I’d never been more grateful for his powers than in this moment.

Harlow wantedto go to the library but I brought her to the showers instead, standing vigil as she washed the gargoyle’s filth from her body. Sharing with other men and even a half demon was one thing but allowing a gargoyle bastard to disrespect what was mine was another.

The fact she seemed more pissed off about his possessive claiming than triggered meant he’d get to keep his life. But the moment she was back in the library, I had only one thing on my mind.

Kol was still on the roof when I materialized in front of him. I let my anger aid me as I lashed out, gripping him around the throat and binding his body with every layer of shadows I could manage. The resounding roar was soon muffled as I covered his mouth.

The burst of power drew my loyal demons to my side. They were far diminished from where they once were but they didn’t hesitate to come to my aide. An act that would only help them survive this brewing tension.

“Hold him.” My order was followed with precision as they moved in and surrounded him until only his eyes were visible. Kol was under the impression I was weaker than him, that he could act without consequence. Something I intended to fix.

“Let me make something very clear to you, gargoyle.” I kept my voice deathly calm as I moved closer, leaning down so all he could focus on was my face. His eyes widened as I removed my bone-clad mask, showing him the demon underneath. My mouth split into a grin and I cocked my head to the side as I studied him. The uncertainty that clung to the air was exactly what I was going for. “Harlow will not be your plaything. She may be your mate, but you will earn that right and she will make you work for it after tonight. You took more than she wanted to give and for that, you will suffer. That man you hunt? He also took too much from her, though she was far less willing.”

His eyes shifted from shocked to furious. Good. Let him know what he walked into, what he’s dealing with, because right now he was making enemies on the wrong side of this war.

“If you ever even think of pushing Harlow to her limits or try to force your alpha bullshit on her again, I’ll cut your dick off and send you back to Helheim in ashes, consequences be damned.”

For emphasis I tightened my shadows around him to the point his eyes were popping out of his skull. Only then did I let them fall away and call my guards off, letting him fall to the ground.

“Don’t test me again, Kol. I won’t be so pleasant next time.”
