“Is the dress everything you were hoping it would be?” I ask with a grin on my face.

“Not at all,” he answers almost breathlessly. “It’s a thousand times better. A million times. God, baby, you look incredible.”

He reaches out to twist one of the curls I left out of my updo around his finger as his eyes trail up the dress and finally meet mine. I see the raw lust there, as well as a sense of awe. I can’t quite explain what that look does to me, but I’m completely sure of my decision to sleep with him tonight.

It’s my turn to let my eyes roam over him, and what I find doesn’t disappoint. He’s in a charcoal three-piece suit, though the jacket is missing. It’s tailored to fit his tight, toned, and chiseled body perfectly. The sleeves of his white button-up shirt are rolled up to reveal those strong forearms of his. It gives the outfit a more casual look, but it’s somehow even sexier than the formal jacket would have been. Even though I’m in this immaculate evening gown, his attire, though more laid back, still matches mine perfectly.

“Ready, my queen?” He smiles down at me.

I nod and smile right back as he offers me his arm.

We drive for a while, almost to the city limits before stopping in front of a dance studio. I guess I should have guessed, seeing as the theme of the day was ladies dancing, but why with all the fancy gown and shoes?

As if sensing my questions, Wyatt lifts my hand and brushes a kiss over my knuckles.

“I loved our dance in the park on our first date. I was hoping you’d take a dance lesson with me?”

As always, his sweet words send my poor heart into overdrive. I swear it’s going to beat right out of my chest one of these days. “Of course I want to dance with you. But I don’t need an expensive dress and shoes. I’m sure most people will be in regular clothes.”

“Haven’t I been telling you that I never do anything half-way? If I’m going to dance around a room with my angel, then she deserves to feel as beautiful and treasured as she is.”

I feel my cheeks heat up with his answer. I’m still not used to all of his compliments. “But aren’t we going to stick out in our fancy outfits?” I ask.

Wyatt shrugs and then smirks at me. "You forget my beautiful Ember. The night we met, you were also wearing something that didn't quite fit the dress code."

I giggle at the memory. “Is that what drew you to me in the first place?”

Wyatt leans over in his seat and cups the back of my neck, pulling me closer to him. “You, my angel, would have captured my attention and my heart that night no matter what you had on.”

I open my mouth to protest, but he silences all of my doubts with a passionate kiss. I can’t help but taste the truth of his words with each stroke of his tongue against mine.

When we finally break apart, Wyatt is grinning from ear to ear. “Let’s go, beautiful.”

Sure enough, when we walk inside, we are the best-dressed couple by a landslide. All eyes are on us, but for once, I don't shrink away from the attention. With Wyatt by my side and lacing his fingers with mine, I feel proud. I'm pretty sure I'd go anywhere and do anything with this man.

Wyatt leans over and kisses my temple so sweetly and then whispers in my ear. “You, my darling, outshine everyone here, with or without that beautiful dress.”

“I’m hoping to be without the dress later tonight,” I whisper back. Wyatt’s breath catches in his throat, and then a soft rumble bubbles up from deep in his chest. It makes me giggle a little bit at how much he’s affected by me. Almost as much as I am by him.

“Careful what you wish for, angel. Once I have you there’s no going back. You’ll be all mine.”

“I thought I already was,” I say with a challenging smirk.

“Goddamn right you are,” he growls.

We’re drawn out of our sexy little banter by someone clearing their throat. Looking up, I see it’s the dance instructor. I can feel my face blushing bright red, but Wyatt just chuckles and tugs me along so we’re standing with the rest of the class.

“Alright,” the instructor begins, clapping her hands together. “Now that we’re all here,” she sends a not so subtle look in our direction, “Let’s get started. Today we’ll be learning how to tango.”

She goes on about a few basic steps and then positions us before counting out loud in 2/4 time without music while we practice. With the excitement of the dress and the romantic gesture of a dance class, not to mention Wyatt’s sweet words and dirty promises, I almost forgot to be nervous about this. Despite our dance in the park, I actually don’t know how to dance. At all. I’m not necessarily clumsy, but I’m not graceful by any means either.

“Everything okay, beautiful?” Wyatt asks as we ever so slowly shuffle into the next position. I’m stumbling a bit on my heels and I’m worried I’m going to step on his foot and break it.

“Um, yeah. I mean, I don’t know how to do this,” I mumble, looking down at my feet to make sure I get it right.

“That’s why we’re here.”

“It’s just I’ve never danced before. Not really.”
