“Who’s your favorite heroine from those movies?” she asked.

“Karen Allen. Of course. Marion Ravenwood was the best Indy girl.”

“I met her.”

He squeezed his arms around her, making her giggle. “What? How? When?”

“I was visiting some friends in Rhode Island and went to Comic Con with them. After we got photos and signatures with someStar Trekcharacters, we—”

“Wait, wait, wait.” He slid out from behind her, needing to not touch her for thisextremelyimportant conversation. “You are aStar Trekfan?”

“Absolutely.The Next Generationin particular.”

“I just got hard again.”

Now her laugh was loud and unbridled. “Well, you’re probably going to climax over this next tidbit then.” She traced a finger over the compass rose of his tattoo and he shivered, making her grin grow larger, more confident.

God, she’s a gorgeous creature.Especially when she smiled.

“In college, I played on a sci-fi trivia team and led my fellow dorks to victory in the championship.”

“Like obscure sci-fi movie trivia?” Why hadn’t Maplehaven had such a team? Maybe the town wastoosheltered.

Leah nodded. “Yeah, questions like what’s the name of the place Korben Dallas wins a trip to inThe Fifth Element?”

Dakota’s hand shot up as if he were a student again. He waved it around as if he’d come out of his skin if Leah didn’t call on him. Yeah, he wasthatkid.

She searched the bedroom, pretending to look for someone to pick. Finally, her gaze settled on him and the delight on her face at their fooling around warmed him. “Dakota, do you know the answer?”

“Fhloston Paradise!” His shout made Ginger bark from downstairs.

Leah clapped him on the shoulder. “Very good.”

“Give me another.”

She squinted up to the ceiling. “Okay. Got one.” She hooked her hair behind her ears, exposing those marvelous breasts and Dakota got distracted.

Leah noticed.

Grabbing one of the pillows behind her, she hugged it to her chest. “Get your head in the game, Brenton.”

“Right. Sorry.” Only he wasn’t. Not really. “Naked sci-fi trivia is more challenging.”

“Indeed.” She wiggled closer to him, her knee between his and almost touching his goods. “Okay, your question is what actor fromStar Trek TNGalso appeared inIndependence Day?”

“Data!” Dakota snapped his fingers, the actor’s name not immediately coming to him. “Wait… wait... Brent Spiner!”

“Wow, you are good at many things, Mr. Adventure.” She inched farther into the space between his legs. “You are also the sexiest sci-fi dork I’ve ever met.”

“Likewise. Dorks don’t usually have legs like yours.” He ran his palms along her thighs.

She swatted him then caught his lips in a volcanic kiss. When she pulled back, they were both breathing heavily. “Dorks don’t usually kiss that well either.”

Laughing, he coaxed her back into leaning against him, his arms fully aware of what a special woman they held. “So tell me about Karen Allen.”

“Oh, right.” She settled against him. “After we’d gotten theStar Treksignatures, we were making our way through the dense crowd to leave. My friend Jeremy stopped suddenly, causing the rest of us to bump into each other. We were like ‘Dude, why did you stop?’ Then he moved out of the way—Jeremy is a mountain of a man—and there was Karen Allen sitting at a table, waiting for visitors. We went wild, ran over, and she was the nicest person ever. Spent a good ten minutes shooting the shit with us. Lovely person.”

“Wow. That’s awesome.”
