Page 74 of Lex

You filthy man. And in front of your grandma too.

“I agree with Lex,” he says, squeezing my cheek gently.

Oh, I am going to get him back for this later. Fucking around with William is just as exciting as the first time. Every time.

Brenda’s eyes sparkle and I lean over and press a kiss to his cheek. Hmm, that’s not enough. I grab onto his jaw and tilt his face toward mine, pressing my lips to his.

I’d kiss him deeper, just stick my tongue inside of him, but we have onlookers.

They’re oddly quiet, whispering to each other.

Plotting, I’m sure.

“I’m thinking blue and red for the wedding colors,” Vikki says and Martha snorts.

“What the hell is that about? Are you thinking of Captain America? Are we trying to be patriotic?”

“I didn’t say white too!” Vikki quips.

“I think blue and purple,” Brenda says softly. “Blue for William, something to match his eyes. And purple for Lex because he just shines.”

Well, now my eyeballs are watering. Fuck this.

William rests his head on my shoulder.

“That sounds good, grandma.”

Oh, so he’s on board all of a sudden? He hasn’t said a word to me about it since they brought it up a few days ago and now he’s giving them the green light?

“Who said I’d marry you?” I ask, arching an eyebrow at him.

He glances up at me, those blue eyes of his so endearing, and I just melt.

“Fine. If you insist. We will discuss details later.”

Brenda claps her hands together and then leans back a little on the couch, while Martha and Vikki bicker over table settings and the venue.

My god, they are just as bad as Emery. I need to bring him into the fold. He’d fit in seamlessly. Perhaps he can help with the wedding planning. We’d end up on a rocket ship to Mars if that were the case.

“Hey!” I shout and all of their heads swivel to me. “Stop getting me off track. I have a surprise. Uma and Rhea are coming to do henna tattoos in five minutes so get your shit together.”

“What the hell is a henna tattoo?” Martha asks.

I pull out my phone and pull up a picture, showing it to them. They ooh and ahh over it for a long minute and then Brenda blinks up at me, her head tilted slightly.

“What made you do this?”

“I said no tattoos and I mean it. So, this is a compromise,” I tell them and peek over at William who is just watching me carefully.

He turns his head and says gently, “Yes. We compromise in this family.”

They, of course, listen to him, bobbing their heads in agreement, giving him none of the shit they give me most days.

But I don’t care at the moment because my heart is exploding in my chest. He just said I was a part of this family.

I’ve never had one of those before.

Fuck, this man.
