“You would never.”

I meet his stare. “Oh, wouldn’t I?”

He rolls his eyes, and we continue walking. He stays silent. Motherfucker.

“Just give me a hint. Like a few words. I can do all sorts of things with those.”

His hand tightens in mine and he shakes his head. “I know you can.”

A pout forms on my mouth and I slow down a little, feeling suddenly sluggish. Light rain has started to fall from the sky and Finn tugs me forward, trying to get me to move faster. But I have lost all motivation.

“Come on, Landon. Stop pouting.”

“I like pouting. I do it so well.”

“Yeah, you fucking do,” he says, and then drops my hand and squats down in front of me. “Hop on. We’re going to get soaked if you keep walking like a turtle.”

“Are you insulting my missing leg?”

“What? No, I’m insulting you being a brat,” he replies as I climb onto his back. My arms link around his shoulders, my thighs held in his hands.

I bounce against his back as he jogs us forward, and he’s not even breathless after a few minutes.

God, he’s so strong. I am not a tiny guy.

One of my hands slips down the collar of his shirt, pressing against his flexing pec, and then I pinch his nipple.

He grunts. “Keep your hands to yourself.”

I don’t listen. I just keep roaming, letting my hands wander. Finn’s breath starts to puff out of him, almost winded, finally showing some semblance of weakness. I was beginning to think he was a robot.

“I like your nipples, Finn,” I say. “I want to bite them.”

“I’m going to toss you off of me. Just chuck you right down the hill.”

“You would never,” I say as I move my hand over to the other nipple and pluck at it.

He huffs, adjusting me on his back. His threats are empty words. I don’t believe them. He would never hurt me.

Never.

In the distance, I see the covered bridge so I make sure to let my hands roam freely until he steps inside and gently sets me down, just as the rain starts to pour from the sky.

“God,” he huffs, his cheeks flushed and his chest heaving.

“I know. I’m that good with my hands…almost as good as you,” I say, smiling. I arch my hips a little and his bottom lip disappears between his teeth.

“Jesus, you and your dick,” he says, and I huff out a laugh.

“You’ve been ignoring it.” I glance around, noticing that there is no one around. No, it’s just me and him. Alone.

We could do so many things out here, where no one can see.

He runs a hand through his hair and eyes me. “I have.”

“Why?” I ask softly, feeling small in this moment, so utterly consumed by him.

“For my own sanity,” he mutters and then lets out a shuttered breath. “We should watch the rain.”
