“We should slow down,”Honor gasped what might have been minutes or hours or years later. I always lost track of time when I was kissing her.

We’d both ended up horizontal on the bed, our bodies entwined as our hands went exploring and our mouths came together again and again.

Things were getting hot and heavy and horny, and it took me a second to realize that she’d said something. I was only focused on the fact that she’d stopped kissing me.

“Right, slow,” I said, rolling my hips against hers slowly.

She bit her lip and let out a sexy noise. “That wasn’t what I meant.”

“Mmm, but you liked it anyway,” I said.

“Too much,” she whispered.

“Should I do it again?” I asked. If she said the word, I would rip her clothes off with my teeth if I had to. I needed to find out if my lurid fantasies of her body matched with reality. I’d seen her in a bathing suit once, but that didn’t really count.

Honor closed her eyes and bit her lip again. “I should go. I really should.”

“Okay,” I said, but she didn’t move.

She lay there next to me with her eyes closed, breathing through her nose.

“You gonna move, babe?” I asked, and that made her open her eyes.

“Babe?” she asked.

“Is that okay?”

She pressed her thumb against my bottom lip. “I like it.”

I licked her thumb with the tip of my tongue, making her close her eyes again.

“I’m definitely going now.” This time, she did get up. “Thank you for the lobster roll. And for everything else. It’s nice to have someone to talk to.”

“It is,” I said.

“You have Joy and Sydney,” she pointed out.

“I don’t want to make out with either of them,” I said.

“No?” she said, standing by the edge of the bed. “Joy is pretty, but I think Sydney is more my type.”

“Oh really?” I asked, sitting up fully. “She’ll be happy to hear that.”

“Don’t tell her,” Honor said, pointing at me.

“Fine, I won’t. Only because her head would get too big. Oh, if you know anyone who’s looking for like a quick dirty hookup, Syd’s in the market,” I said.

“I don’t, but I’ll keep my eyes out,” she said, stroking my face. “I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“Yeah. Say hi to Lark for me,” I said as I stood up to walk her out.

“I will.” She kissed me once more.

“Bye, babe,” I said, and she smiled at the term of endearment.

“Bye.”
