“Morning, Flower. Did I not wash your hair well enough last night?”

I blush and duck my head. “You did great. But I usually dry it before I go to bed, or it gets too tangled. Thank you, though. I clearly needed sleep.”

“Orgasms do have a way of letting a person get good rest,” he teases. “I know I certainly slept well, and you barely moved an inch all night.”

His gaze hungrily rakes my body and I flick water at him. “Don’t you have to get back to work today?” I tease.

He grins. “Yeah. But I thought I would see if you wanted to come to the office with me. I don’t want to leave you here by yourself unless you want to be alone.”

“I’m supposed to have breakfast with Joe and June and see if I can find something for the two of them to do together that won’t completely freak Joe out.”

“Is there something he wants to do?”

I finish rinsing the conditioner out of my hair and shut the shower off before answering.

“I know Joe likes museums. But I’m worried about the crowds.”

He holds up his hand and walks out with his phone in his hand. What is he up to now?

I hurry through drying off before pulling on clothes and wrapping my hair in a soft t-shirt before I go find him.

“I’ll make it worth your while. Thank you. I’ll have Clara send you all the details as soon as I have them.”

He’s writing something on the hotel stationery as he ends the call and sets his phone down.

“This is the number for my assistant, Clara. If they want, the mob museum will open a couple of hours late today so they can take a private tour. You’re welcome to join them.”

My mouth drops open. “You can just convince businesses to open late?”

“When I’m paying them twice what they’ll make in those three hours I can.”

“No. Luke. That’s too much. And also… the mob museum? A little too fitting, no?”

He chuckles. “I figured Joe wouldn’t want to see the erotic heritage museum with his sister, and the Neon Museum Boneyard has a major event today, but I could call them too and pull some strings if you think they would like to see that.”

I shake my head in bewilderment. “You’re insane.”

He shrugs. “Depends on who you ask. I can go into the office late if you want to come in with me. Or I can send a car to pick you up from the museum.”

“Why do you want me to come to work with you so badly?”

He grips my hand. “You showed me a piece of your work. I thought I would show you mine.”

“And why are you being so nice to Joe and June?”

He pulls me close. “So many questions. Don’t you need to fix your hair?”

I laugh. “I will. Just answer my question. It’s the last one, I promise.”

“I guess their story moved me as much as it moves you. June seems like a wonderful woman who works too hard, much like you. And Joe is a kind soul and a hero who deserves to have some fun in his life.”

“I couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Luke. I would love to come to work with you. I’m just going to have a quick breakfast with them and arrange for them to get to the mob museum.”

“One of my limos is on standby to take them whenever they’re ready. Just call Clara and she’ll make it happen.”

I throw my arms around his neck and kiss him soundly. For a guy who basically kidnapped me from New York City, he’s alright.

I rush through drying my hair and quickly put on makeup before I’m ready to head down to June and Joe’s floor to have breakfast. The three of us enjoy room service, before June disappears to get ready for the mob museum. Joe and I cuddle on the couch, and I massage his back and shoulders in all the places I’m able to without hurting him.
