Daxon thrust back and forth slowly then. I was sore from cumming so many times, but the slide of his cock inside of me felt like heaven. I felt high, endorphins pumping through me. I never wanted the moment to end. I wanted to stay like that with him forever.

Our panting breaths, the slap of our skin, and the smell of…us drowned out the mustiness of the room we were in. The sounds coming out of his mouth were the sexiest I'd ever heard, and I moved eagerly against him, lost to the pleasure we were creating.

The moment seemed to drive on and on, until I was clenching him tightly once again. I leaned forward and bit down on that space between his neck and his shoulder, slicing down hard enough that I broke the skin, and I could taste the salty sensation of his blood as it trickled into my mouth.

He moaned wildly, and his thrusts grew harder. "Yes, bite me. Just like that, my perfect mate. Make me feel you forever," he purred.

I groaned at his words, lapping at the bite and wanting it imprinted on his skin for eternity.

One of his hands moved to my breast, and he pinched my nipple while he continued to impale me.

"Best day of my life. This moment. I never could've dreamed of anything more,” he whispered, his voice coming out pained. He came again, his cock jerking inside of me as heat filled up my core even more, so much that it dripped out. Our eyes were locked against each other as his hips slowed.

"I love you," he whispered, as a tear trailed down his face.

"I love you too," I murmured.

We lost track of time after that, lost in each other's bodies…and lost in each other's souls.

The Queen was standingin front of me, staring in the mirror as she played with the blue stoned necklace hanging around her neck. "There are rumors the unrest is growing," she said anxiously, wisps of her hair falling out of her elegant updo.

"We’ll face whatever comes," a man's voice answered. I looked back to see the king I’d seen in the castle’s coffin, sitting in an armchair, a little girl playing at his feet.

"We have to protect her at all costs," he murmured, watching as she scooted toy cars around a toy track.

The King and Queen both looked exhausted, like they carried the weight of the world on their shoulders.

"I don't understand why we haven't figured out who's behind it yet." The Queen paced the room back and forth, fidgeting with her dress. “Even the fae haven’t heard anything.”

The King’s voice darkened. “I’m not so sure King Cantor would tell us if he knew.”

The Queen nodded at that, only looking more concerned.

"Whoever's behind the unrest, they won't be able to outweigh the good we've done for our people." The King was trying to reassure her, but I could see the tension in his gaze. He wasn't sure if he believed his words.

"What if we sent an emissary to the Hunters? Maybethey'veheard rumors of what's going on," the Queen offered.

The little girl made a honking sound as she pretended to crash two of the toy cars together.

That only seemed to worry the King and Queen more, like her innocence was too much for them to bear.

The King nodded slowly. "I'll send Hendrick," he said, standing up, his eyes distant as he thought about the plan. "He was adopted into that family of vampires, so he'll be more adept with their ways." The Queen nodded, her lips pursed as he strode out of the room. Staring after him for a long moment, she walked over to the chair he'd abandoned and set herself gracefully on it. She reached out and tenderly played with the little girl's hair. The girl glanced up at the Queen, and my blue gaze stared out from her face.

"What's wrong, Mama?" she asked in a soft, sweet voice.

The Queen straightened her shoulders and pasted a fake smile on her lips. "Everything's fine, my darling. Your daddy and I are just stressed about a few things."

The little girl laid her head against her mother's knee and smiled at her. My heart pinched inside me; it was obvious the little girl loved the queen very much.

"Sing our song, Mama," she pleaded.

The Queen quickly hid her grimace and gave her another false smile.

She hummed a hauntingly familiar melody, but as she opened her mouth to sing the actual words, the room disappeared and I found myself once again huddled against Daxon’s chest, wondering why I could still hear the melody ringing in my ears.
