Iwatch as Drake sings and rocks our daughter gently side to side, not surprised when her twin brother starts to fuss in his bassinet beside the tree.

When I go to grab him and settle him on my chest, Drake shakes his head and grins. “I’ve got two arms for a reason, princess. You go ahead and take a look at those ad campaigns that need to go out tomorrow.”

“It’s Christmas Eve,” I sigh, wanting nothing more than to just throw the damn papers into the trash and forget about work for a little while.

“Yep. And it will be Christmas Day soon and I want to spend it with my family, including my beautiful and brilliant wife. So just sign off on the ad and we’re done until New Years.” He grins and shuffles over, rocking both of our kids. And to my utter amazement they just watch him, wide-eyed.

“I don’t know how you do it. You’ve got the magic touch for sure.”

“Yeah, I do. And if you get that work done and then we feed these two and get them to sleep, I’ve got some magic touching that I’d like to show you.”

“Ugh. I think you need to work on that line,” I giggle. His nose crinkles adorably and my heart jumps as I fall just a little more in love with him.

He’s made everything right since I finally gave him a chance. Justin is adjusting well and doing better in school than he has in years. Our work is the best it’s ever been. Mr. Alexander has never been happier. He’s talking about retiring sometime next year and it looks like Drake might be up for his position in the company.

Which means he’ll be my boss then. But I’m alright with that. He can boss me around at work all he likes. At home though…we’re a team. Sometimes I’m in charge and sometimes he is. Sometimes we have his fantasies as our inspiration and sometimes we have mine.

It’s honestly the best relationship I’ve ever had. And it’s hard to imagine that I found it with Drake. But he’s perfect for me. And he’s the best dad I’ve ever seen.

As he bounces the babies around the living room, dancing in his robe to Santa Got Run Over By a Reindeer, I know I made the right decision.

We were meant to be. Our future is an endless golden dream that is made perfect by his playful antics and our never-ending love.

“You better get that ad done, baby,” he warns, his eyes hot pools of lust. “I’ve got plans for you.”

“Not if I get to you first,” I giggle and sit down to go over the campaigns.

After I finish them, I look around, shocked by the silence. Following the soft sound of music, I open our bedroom door. Red rose petals make a trail to our bed and Drake lies there, completely naked, holding up a sprig of mistletoe conveniently placed for a kiss.

“Very naughty, Santa.”

“Come and show me what a bad girl you’ve been this year.” I run and jump on the bed, squealing when he catches me and turns me over until he’s on top of me.

“Now how am I going to kiss you like this?”

He grins and lies back, his arms behind his head. “Feel free.”

But his smile fades and he quickly loses control when I wrap my lips around him.

“Best Christmas ever,” he groans.

“Wait until next year,” I laugh and we fall into each other’s arms, losing ourselves in each other until we both fall victim to the waves of passion dragging at us. Pulling us under in an undertow of love and desire until we’re screaming and crying into the silent night, the soft glow of brightly-colored lights dancing across bare skin.

“I love you,” I whisper as I fall across his body, panting wildly.

“Not as much as I love you, princess. Always. You’re my favorite Christmas present ever. You’ll never outdo that.”

“There’s always next year.” I lean my head on his chest, smiling when I feel his heart kick underneath my head.

With a sigh, I close my eyes and surrender to the exhaustion dragging at me. “Merry Christmas, husband.”

“Merry Christmas, my angel.”
