The house is noisier now, and it’s impossible to get privacy without a locked door.

It’s driving Everett insane already, but I kind of like it.

We’ve had to start using the dining room table for meals.

We’ve also been keeping up the spells Dante first cast to protect our forest.

No more trespassers. Our pack are the only ones out here, night after night.

Oscar’s stopped blacking out. He’s fully connected to his wolf at last.

I count heads as we start to walk out into the backyard.

“Who are we missing?” I ask Everett, as I look around.

“Ophelia doesn’t run with us,” he reminds me.

“Someone else,” I murmur.

“James is in a mood,” Jennifer says, as she passes. “He’s staying inside tonight.”

Oscar’s already in his shifted form, chasing Leo’s tiny wolf around.

I smile as I watch the adorableness.

Everett calls back to Ophelia to lock the door.

It closes and we shift to join our pack.
