My brows drop, not liking her phrasing. She sees it and runs a hand down my arm until she can clasp my fingers with hers. “I just mean that they leant me the power to get through it. But now I’m wiped and I have an eight am class tomorrow, so I’m gonna go sleep like the dead for the next six hours.”

I wrap her in a hug, and she hugs me back. “We’ll test the communication spell tomorrow,” she mutters against my shoulder, and I nod glad that she knows I’ll be more comfortable testing it with her than any of the guys watching us.

“Yeah, just imagine how much silent shit talking we can do about Morgan and her bevy of bitches.”

Merritt snorts out a laugh and then pulls away from me, giving the guys a small wave before she retreats into her room, closing the door firmly behind her.

I turn around and pause, finding all of them staring at me, with various expressions that range from hesitant tohungryto curious. I stare back at them, fold my arms over my chest. “Is there… do we need to do anything else?”

Gideon moves until he’s standing in front of me. He cups my face carefully, like I’m precious or like he thinks I’ll pull away from him. “We can clean up if you’re tired?”

Behind him, Fielder shakes his head. “I want to test each of the spells before we leave for the night.” Ezra makes a noise in his chest like he disagrees, but Fielder ignores it. “If we don’t, it defeats the purpose of having them at all.”

I yawn, but nod. “Okay, let’s do it quick. I want to shower before I go to bed.” My muscles are achy. I feel sticky with sweat from being in pain for so long. I pluck at my shirt, pulling it away from my skin and wincing at the damp fabric.

Not one of them moves. All of their eyes focus on my body, like they suddenly realize that my shirt is clinging to my skin. I snap my fingers. “Hey, eyes up, assholes. I’m tired and want to go to bed too. If you want to test the spells now, let’s do it.”

Fielder is the first to pull his eyes away from me, running a hand through his curly blond hair, a faint flush on his cheeks. “Right, sorry, Sweeney.”

“I’m not,” Hardin mutters, eyes still focused on my chest. “Need help in that shower, love?”

My body sways toward him, the traitor, and a smirk crawls over his face, while Gideon reaches out to steady me. I ignore my flaming face and I look up at him. “What’s first?”

“First, we get you sitting down, because you’re dead on your feet.” He urges me to the couch and pushes me gently on the shoulders to make me sit.

Still standing on the chalked symbols, Fielder mutters something under his breath. A faint tickle starts on my heel. As soon as he stops, a glimmer of greeny yellow mist or glitter on the air floats up between us. A straight line stretches from him to me.

“Tracking spell?” I ask, and he nods.

“What are the words you said?” I ask, because they’d said I could track them too.

His blush deepens, and he shakes his head. “Nothing to do with the spell. If you want to find one of us, just think about who you want to find and then ask the spell to do so.”

I frown, not liking the lack of information here, but Hardin plops onto the couch next to me, and squeezes my thigh. “The magic will want to do as you ask.”

I sigh and close my eyes because it feels right and trying to do magic with my eyes open feels foolish. So ridiculous.

“She’s going to try to find me,” Hardin says, smugly.

“You’re right next to her, asshole. She’s trying to find someone else, obviously.” Ezra sounds like he’s moved farther away from us, like he’s trying to put distance between us to give the magic space to work.

“Wanna bet?”

“Yeah, I do.”

I scoff, and if my eyes weren’t already closed, I would roll them. I push their voices out of my head and focus on the person I want to find. It’s a lot easier than I thought it would be. There’s a tickle on the bottom of my foot again and when Hardin lets out a whoop of triumph, my eyes open. Stretching from me to him is a purple glitter haze, so dark it almost looks black.

“I knew you liked me.” He grins at me and leans forward like he’s going to kiss me, while Ezra laughs.

“You might want to check that the trail ends with you, Yorke.” Gideon sounds smug as fuck.

That stops Hardin’s inching toward my lips as his head whips around and he lets out a groan. The trail doesn’t end with him. It stretches through his body to Merritt’s bedroom door.

I give him a small smile and pat his cheek. “When will you learn? I keep telling you guys not to make me pick between you. I’ll end up picking all or none of you every time.”

Gideon chuckles. “We have no problem with you picking all of us, Rosalind. I thought we’d made that clear.”

The tone of his voice makes it obvious that he’s not talking about just for spells or rides, but for being in a relationship. They’re okay with me being with all of them. Which is really just mind blowing and makes me not trust this even more. I mean, its gotta be a trick, right?
