With confidant strides, he comes toward the bed. Without waiting for my permission, he pulls back the covers, climbing in behind me, fully clothed, pulling me tight against his chest.
I want to fight, to pull away. It's what I should be doing. Hell, it's what I would be doing if I were smart, but the minute his scent reaches my nose, I know I'm not going anywhere. He's worried about me. I can feel it in the way he holds me. As if he can't face losing me again.
"Talk to me, Lei. You know you can tell me anything." He whispers in my ear as I shiver at the contact.
I close my eyes, knowing he's right. In the past, whenever I had a problem, I would always go to Riley first. Corbin tended to sort all his problems out with his fists. He believed if you hit it hard enough, you could fix it.
But Riley, he would listen. Don't get me wrong, he's just as dangerous as Corbin, if not more. Riley could keep you calm and make you see what you needed to see. You could be dying, and he'd make you believe you wanted it more than anything.
His hand trails down to the hem of my t-shirt before sliding underneath. The touch of his hand against my skin feels amazing, and I moan at the contact.
"Riley." I whisper breathlessly.
His fingertips trace soothing circles against my skin, going higher each time until I gasp as his thumb brushes against my hardened nipple.
"Trust me, Lei. Close your eyes." he whispers behind me, and I do as he says. I'm tired, and for the first time in what feels like forever, I'm able to put my trust in someone else. To give up control, even for a few minutes. Do I trust Riley?Yes. No.Not like I used to. He's still angry with me, and I don't blame him. With Jacob gone, I could probably tell them the truth, but it's too late now. Too much time has passed, and I wasn't sure if they would even believe me. Jacob had been Corbin's idol, and he had taken in Riley as his adopted son. Could I be that person that tears him down in their eyes?Do I even want to?
"Open for me, Lei. I can't stand this much longer. Let me remember every inch of you."
There's no denying him as I raise my knee, opening myself up to his touch. His mouth lands wet on my neck as he sucks at my throat, his thumb sliding over my clit, applying just the right amount of pressure. I gasp as he massages it between his fingers, and the scent of my arousal hits the air.
“Always such a wet girl for me.”
“Yes.” I whisper, loving his dirty mouth.
“Prove it.” His fingers leave me, and I instantly feel the loss of his heat. The bed groans as I hear him undressing behind me before he lies on his back beside me. His warm hands encase my hips, before impaling me down on him and we both moan as I take him to the hilt.
"Do you feel that, Lei?” He whispers. “I'm not going anywhere. If you try and leave me again, you better have a damn army to back you up." he growls before lifting my hips and slamming me back down till I'm screaming out his name.
"Riley—" I begin, but he cuts me off.
"I own you, Lei. I've always owned you, as does Corbin. Do you think it didn't hurt me when you left? That I would just move on with my life as if you never happened? Wrong."
“Riley—"
"No, you will listen, little wolf. You damn near broke me. Nearly broke us, but now you’re home, and I wouldn’t survive if you left me again.”
I can feel the tears begin to well at the corner of my eyes as another orgasm slams through me. I’d wanted to hear those words from him since I showed up at the gate. I wanted his love because I had been lost without it.
Xan may think he can take everything from me, but he's wrong. He could never take Riley.
"I'm sorry."I close my eyes, unable to stand to see the pain on his face.
"No, you're not. Not yet. But I guarantee you will be. I’m going to worship every part of your body until you can feel me everywhere. When you breathe, it will be my scent you smell on your skin. It will be me you feel dribbling down your thighs as you walk. Open your eyes, Lei." I do as he says, my eyes locking on to his until I feel like I'm drowning within their green depths.
"Good girl. Now sleep. You’re safe.”

Waking in Riley's arms, I feel invincible.
Like the nightmares of yesterday can't reach me.
That Xan can't reach me.
Turning over, I grip the blanket tighter as my eyes land on Corbin sitting in the chair across the room.
