I resisted the urge to wrap my arms around my probably-pointy nipples and instead put my hands on my hips. “What do you want?”
A group of three animals came running and slithering over the ledge the phoenix guy had landed on. My eyes widened as they all shifted back to their male forms. They were all bigger than the creature-forms of any of the fae Lian had introduced me to outside the Stronghold the day before, and if I looked closely at one of them, I could sort offeelhis magic.
From what I could feel, their magic was fucking strong.
But what could the fae even do with their magic, other than shifting forms?
The fiery bear-dog, which I knew was a hellhound, shifted into the blond, inked-up guy with the feral grin from that first day. The sabertooth-monster shifted into the tight pants guy with the shortish hair. The gigantic snake thing changed into man-bun guy and his short-shorts.
Fuck, that was a lot of huge, manly dudes in a small space.
I’m going to have to act like I’m not anywhere near as intimidated as I really am.
Calian stepped up behind me and wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling my ass back to his fucking erection.
How is he always fucking hard?
“What happened?” the phoenix guy asked, his head tilting sideways a little.
I wondered if I did bird-like shit when I was in my human form.
Part of me expected Calian to give them a savage grin and declare thatsexhad happened, but of course, he didn’t.
“My female and I have become one,” he said instead. “The bond has settled between us.”
“Fuck.” The sabertooth guy grimaced. “Anyone who didn’t have the chance to catch her scent will want you dead.”
“I look forward to the fight,” Calian said, his voice filling with that savagery I’d been waiting for.
At least it wasn’t geared toward sex, though. For now.
“I can’t believe you convinced the poor little beast to mate with you so quickly,” the hellhound guy drawled. “She seemed sofiery.”
“Shefucking is,” I growled back. “We had sex. If I had known it was going to mate us, I would’ve thought twice about it.”
That last part was a lie.
It had been so damn good I still would’ve done it.
But at least then I would’ve known what I was getting myself into.
“Sex?” The basilisk guy looked at Calian.
“A connection of bodies and souls,” Lian replied.
Cryptic fucker.
There was no point in dancing around it.Guess I was explaining it to the other fae after all.
“Men have dicks. Women have vaginas. Dicks fit inside vaginas. When it happens, it’s called sex.” I gave a shitty explanation but saw the gears in their minds turning.
Had they done something to the other human women to make them stay quiet about it? Or had the women just kept their mouths shut because they didn’t know that the fae were so unaware, like the girls back in the Stronghold?
I was going to need to tell them about the whole sex thing when I got back there. No way around that, no matter how much I wanted there to be one.
“Fuck,” the hellhound guy growled, glancing behind him, as if looking toward the Stronghold.
“If any of those women were meant for you, their scent would have infected every thought that goes through your mind,” Lian warned him, his voice low and dangerous.
