“Isaac!” Kinsley snapped her manicured fingers in my face. Then she cried out as my hand locked tightly around her wrist. Her lip wobbled the harder I squeezed.

“Who the fuck do you think you’re talking to?”

She swallowed, whimpering as she tried to break away from me and failed.

“Let’s get one thing straight. You don’t fucking own me. Nor do you have the privilege of barging up to me barking off demands like you have any level of authority around here.”

“But-But I…I’m your—”

“No, you’re not,” I growled fiercely, getting right in her face. “You’renothingto me, just a warm hole for me to bury my cock into any time I need some ass.”

Tears dotted her eyes, slipping out the corners.

“Matter of fact, whatever youthinkthis thing is between us, is done. I don’t want or need anything from you.”

“You’re angry…”

Slowly the fury writhing within her perished as her gaze softened, her tears dried up and gone. Despite my insanely tight grip on her arm, she moved closer to me and brushed her lips against my jaw. “You’re right. I was out of line. I’m sorry. Let me make it up to you.”

Her free hand pressed against my soft dick, rubbing it softly through my jeans.

“Sorry.” I released her wrist and stepped away from her, shaking my head. “I’m not in the mood.”

Kinsley scoffed at me in utter disbelief. To be frank I was just as shocked to hear those five words tumble out of my own mouth. With nothing more to say, Kinsley fled. I plopped down next to my brothers, and from there my eyes couldn’t help but dart back over to the DJ booth to gawk at the finest fucking prize Storm Ridge Academy had to offer.

“DidIoverhearthatcorrectly?” Rhett asked Isaac after he flopped down on the tree stump next to us. “Did you just kick Kinsley to the curb?”

“You’re goddamn right I did,” Isaac replied. “Bitch is fucking delusional if she thinks for one measly second that she can ordermearound.”

“What did she say to you anyway?” I handed over a quarter bag of weed to the guy standing in front of me then tossed the money down in the duffel before averting my eyes on Isaac, who’s interest was trained elsewhere.

“She wants Samara gone.”

“I’m sure she does.” Rhett chuckled and reached down in the duffel, pulling out a bag that contained a few pre-rolled joints. He pulled out one and lit it, taking in a few puffs before he passed it over to Isaac. “Especially since you’re so fixated on wanting to fuck her brains out.”

I internally scoffed and rolled my eyes. Like he was one to fucking talk. I saw how he acted with the princess of darkness not even thirty minutes ago. How he looked at her while they danced. The adulation on his face. How he was ready to devour her whole when she whispered in his ear. The fucker literally had hearts in his eyes.

If I thought she was a problem before, she sure as fuck had become a bigger issue now. After the bullshit Griffin told us tonight, we had a lot of fucking work to do. Distractions were the last thing we needed.

“Can you really blame me?” asked Isaac. “I mean, just fuckinglookat her.”

I scowled as I glanced over in her direction, my jaw ticking as a jolt passed through me, one that instantly made me tear my sight away from her.

Yes, I couldn’t deny she was breathtaking. I hated it even more to admit that there were things she and I shared an apparent common interest in—music and our preference of wardrobe for example. In another life, I would’ve tried to make her mine. Make her my queen. But in this life, full of nothing but drugs, crime, and the deadly shadow that followed alongside it, she was nothing more than a liability. A burden. A disease that had already crept into my brothers’ heads, clouding their judgment. I wouldn’t let her do that to me.

I fucking refused.

Kinsley was right. Samara needed to go. I’d have already made it happen by now, but I’d been too preoccupied with my side hustle to put in the extra time for any ingenious schemes. Looked like I had no other choice but to tackle on some extra work now.

It was time to uphold that promise to make her stay here a living Hell.
