“Make this stop, or you’re getting locked up for a long time,” Aksel commands.

The guy immediately starts murmuring a spell.

Aksel turns to me. “That matches our description of Ryan. Why wouldn’t he conceal himself?”

“He’s not planning on getting caught, which means this really is a trap,” I say. We need to get out of here. “Everyone-”

A boom echoes around the room, bouncing off every wall. A flash of light burns my eyes before heat blooms across my skin. The ground shakes as my ears ring.

A bomb just exploded in the middle of this fight club. In the middle, near where my mate and friends are.

I check Aksel is fine before heading in their direction.

“Anna! Look at me.” Griffyn’s voice is shaky.

“Are you both fine? Tell me right the fuck now!” I shout.

“We avoided the blast, but it was close to you guys,” Aksel tells them.

“I’m fine,” Anna croaks, and my heart returns to my body. She’s okay. Thank fuck she’s okay.

I need to keep it together and get out of here.

“Where is Blaze? Blaze isn’t answering, and we can’t get to your side. People are everywhere pushing us to get out,” Aksel says.

Blaze was right in the center, fighting, right where the bomb went off.

I keep moving in their direction, but people are still fighting and there isn’t a clear path.

“Anna, wait!” Griffyn shouts.

What’s happening now?

“Anna, don’t!” Griffyn again.

“What’s happening?” I growl.

“She’s heading for Blaze.”

“Blaze!” Anna shouts.

Aksel steps up next to me, and we continue making our way across the room, pushing everyone out of our way.

“His pulse is strong. I think he was just knocked out. His shifter body will heal quickly. I just need to set his bones, so he heals correctly,” Griffyn tells all of us.

“You found Blaze?” Aksel’s voice is insistent.

He’s shoving people out of the way and using his darkness to clear a path ahead.

“Yes, we did. He’s out cold,” Anna answers. “How long does he need?”

There’s no way for me to know from here. It’s all dependent on how bad the damage is. “Hopefully, only a few minutes. We need to get out of here.”

At least we are making progress in getting to them. I’m coming, Anna.

“We found the source of the rage in the air,” Aksel tells them, trying to keep his voice even. Even I can hear how nervous he is.

We knowingly walked into a trap, and now it’s time to exit before one of us gets killed.
