The front door slams open as Aksel comes back in, holding his hands out like a grand entrance.

“I’ve solved the problem,” Aksel declares, looking around my apartment in disdain.

I raise an eyebrow while still staring down at the book I’m reading. I feel like this doesn’t involve me.

No one acknowledges him until he clears his throat.

“What did you do?” Griffyn asks sarcastically.

“I’m glad you asked. I found us a house. We are moving today, so get your stuff together.”

Oh good. This is actually good news for me. It means I can get them out of my space.

A small part of me that I absolutely refuse to acknowledge might miss them. Just a little.

“Oh, that is actually good news.” Griffyn smiles from his spot on the couch. He stands up to put his belongings together, shoving them into his bag from around the room.

Felix is just staring at me. I can feel his eyes from here. He asks, voice full of suspicion, “Anna, why aren’t you saying anything?”

I look up from my book to meet his eyes that are drilling holes into mine.

“Why would I? This doesn’t involve me.”

Felix’s eyes get tight.

“We are getting out of her space. She didn’t want us here in the first place. I’m sure she’s happy. Get packing, Felix.” Aksel is standing there with his arms crossed, legs spread wide like he knows there’s a fight coming.

“I’m not going anywhere without Anna.” Felix’s voice is firm as he stands up to face Aksel.

Oh boy.

Griffyn stops what he’s doing to watch. Blaze stands up between them.

“Annaiscoming, right?” Griffyn asks.

Aksel’s shoulders tighten. “No. I thought she would stay here.”

“I’m not leaving Anna. She’s coming,” Felix declares.

“I have no interest in leaving my own place to be somewhere I’m not wanted,” I can’t help but say.

Aksel doesn’t want me there. There’s no reason for me to go with them.

“It’s not safe here on your own. That’s why we started living here in the first place,” Blaze says.

This is going to be a fight. I can feel it brewing in the air.

“Anna doesn’t need protection,” Aksel grits out.

“He’s right. I don’t!”

But the others aren’t hearing it. Griffyn sits back down on the couch, abandoning his packing. “I’m not leaving without Anna.”

“Me neither,” Felix adds.

Blaze just grunts but doesn’t make a move to pack, either.

Aksel is grinding his teeth so hard I can hear it from here.
