I close my eyes, breathing in his scent of buttered popcorn. Slowly, his tongue curls around mine as we kiss languorously.

We both pull back, staring into each other’s eyes before the moment is ruined.

“This place is filthy!” Aksel shouts.

I roll my eyes, pulling away from Felix completely and resting back against my pillows, sipping on my coffee.

“I know! We all came back dirty yesterday,” I respond.

Felix walks back over to the kitchen, leaning against the counter.

“It’s not big. If we all take an area, we will have the place clean in no time,” Felix says.

Blaze and Griffyn both sit up, having been woken up by Aksel’s complaining. I was hoping Blaze would sleep longer, making me more annoyed at Akshole.

I get up, moving towards the couch and taking Blaze in. He looks good. The gashes appear more like small cuts, and his bruises are a yellowish green now. Clearly, he’s healing, but I won’t be happy until he’s back to one hundred percent.

He watches me approach, probably wondering what the hell I’m doing.

“You look better. Do you need anything?” I ask.

His eyes narrow. “No.”

Ouch. I thought it was clear I cared about him, but, apparently, he doesn’t even want me to ask.

The hurt must show on my face, because his finally softens some.

“Thank you for taking care of me,” He whispers.

He sounds sincere, so I decide to take the win and leave him alone.

Aksel is still complaining. “I am not cleaning! We will get a maid.”

“Akshole, your rich boy privilege is showing. Relax, it’ll take an hour tops,” I say.

I grab a cloth and get to it with Felix and Griffyn. The incubus is moving slowly, but I don’t comment since he really seems to be trying to help. Maybe he didn’t sleep well last night.

When Blaze tries to help, I shoot him down and force his big body back on the couch. He must still feel bad about earlier because he actually listens. Aksel barely does anything, but the place still gets clean in record time.

Even with the bags organized, Aksel still trips over them for the hundredth time. I think the vein in his forehead is going to pop; he’s so angry.

And when Griffyn is showering in my one bathroom, and Aksel doesn’t want to wait, he finally loses it.

“I can’t take this anymore!” Aksel slams the door on his way out of the apartment.

Griffyn leaves the bathroom just in time to see Aksel’s meltdown.

I can’t help but burst out laughing even though I try to hide it behind my hand. Griffyn and Felix are quick to join me, but Blaze is just frowning at the door.

When I can finally speak, I ask, “What do you think that means?”

“With him? No clue,” Felix answers.

“I’m sure he’ll be back soon,” Griffyn adds.

Blaze is still frowning but doesn’t add to the conversation.
