I just got home from a shift at the bar. I’ve cut down my hours and taken a lot of days off since these guys came into my life, but I’m trying to work when I can so Mike doesn’t get screwed over.
“What do you want for dinner?” Felix asks.
“I don’t know-”
Blood. I can smell blood. So much blood.
“Anna? What’s wrong?” Griffyn asks.
They all stop what they’re doing to stare at me, but I can’t give them any energy.
All I can smell is fresh blood nearby, and it’s too much to resist.
Felix and Blaze sniff the air at the same time.
“Grab her!” Felix shouts.
I bolt for the door, but Blaze has his arms around me, restraining me in seconds.
My fangs drop, and I snarl at him. He needs to let me go. I need it.
“What the fuck is happening?” Aksel shouts.
“It’s blood. There’s so much blood outside the front door,” Felix answers.
“Someone is trying to lure her outside?” Griffyn asks, voice full of disbelief.
I continue fighting Blaze, throwing my body weight around. When that doesn’t work, I pretend to relax, and his grip softens slightly. I make my move, tearing free from him and zipping towards the door.
Felix grunts at the impact of stopping me, wrapping me up in his arms. He’s not as strong as the dragon.
“A little help here!” Felix shouts. He’s barely maintaining his grip on me.
Multiple arms restrain me now.
“Anna, calm down. You can’t go out there!” Felix shouts.
“Griffyn, calm her the fuck down!” Blaze commands.
I feel a trickle of pheromones hit me, but it barely scratches the surface. It’s like a slight tickle.
“I can’t,” He croaks.
I try to get away again, but their hold is too tight.
“Someone do something!” Blaze shouts from right behind me.
Felix hesitates before sinking his canines into his wrist. He shoves his bleeding arm into my mouth.
His perfect blood slides across my taste buds distracting me from the enticing smell. I sink my fangs into him, draining more to fulfill the need that is overtaking my body.
“We don’t have long. Aksel, use your powers,” Blaze commands.
It’s like everyone froze, and Blaze took the lead.
All my senses are cut off until I feel more in control of myself. I open my eyes to see pure darkness surrounding me.
Felix sags, leaning into me. Fuck! How much did I drink?
