I looked up at him and frowned. “You’re pulling my leg.”

He shook his head slowly. “I took a few classes.”

“Why?”

His shapely, alluring mouth curled into a slow smile. “Let’s just say I was trying to impress a girl.”

“Then she would have been impressed. I’m just letting you lead me.”

“That’s the way it should be.”

I raised my face to meet his. “Are we talking about dancing here? Or something else?”

His mouth tugged up at one end. “That’s what I meant. What did you have in mind?”

Words escaped me. The way he slanted his head, wearing a sexy smile, rattled me.

As we glided together, it felt like we were in our own universe. The other dancers went all blurry like a ballroom scene painted in watercolours, and my feet seemed airborne.

After dancing to three ballads, the band paused for a break. Wanting more, I snapped out of an erotic dream and had to bite my tongue to stymy a groan.

Nevertheless, determined to keep Carson close, I hung around, if only to keep those pretty, ogling women from pouncing on him. Rich girls liked to fuck men like Carson before marrying wealthy fops to please their families.

That wasn’t me. When I turned thirty, which was only a year away, I had one billion pounds coming to me, thanks to my generous grandparents. Not that I wanted to marry Carson. I just wanted to fuck him. Badly.

From the moment I saw him in that worker’s pub with my brother, my body went into overdrive. Just looking at him sent a need blazing through me.

“Have you seen the garden?” I asked, just as he was about to walk off.

His eyes had a twinkle in them, as though he’d read me as saying, “Let’s step outside so you can touch me, and I can suck you off.”

Or is that just my dirty mind?

He wore a lazy smile. “You go first.”

“You just want to perve on my arse.”

Fuck all these formalities and niceties.

He leaned in, and his breath sent a fiery blast through me. “Guilty.”

My cheeks flushed. “Yours isn’t too bad, from memory.”

We held each other’s stare, and I’d forgotten where I was again. I was swollen and hot and needed a wall to lean against.

I led him to the pool area, knowing it would be quieter there.

When I noticed that the kaleidoscopic colour wheel was turned off, I climbed up the ladder to switch it on.

“Hey, what are you doing?” he asked, holding the steps for me.

“Just switching on the pool lights.” I pushed down the lever. “How’s that?”

“Um… Hot.” He sounded like he was having trouble talking.

“You mean the pool lights?” I asked.

“I’m not looking at those.”
