Harleigh eyes us cryptically, her blond brow lifted. “You all good?”

“So good. Let’s hurry up. I’ve got plans for you tonight.”

“Dammit, man. TMI. And in front of a preacher.” The man’s eyes twinkle.

The preacher just clears his throat and then we both slip into the familiar words, quickly repeating them until the preacher whispers, “It’s okay. I’ve got time.”

I growl. “I don’t. Hurry it up. Just get to the kissing part.”

The few guests we have laugh and then it’s that time and I pull my lovely bride into my arms, the slight baby bump pushing at my body.

“I love you, Angel.” I kiss her and it seems to go on and on until the preacher clears his throat and we pull apart, flushed and hungry.

“Sorry,” I grunt to the little man.

“That’s alright, son. He holds his hands out and smiles. “It gives me great pleasure to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Bennet Harper for the first time.”

We turn to smile and hold our hands up. Then I kiss her knuckles. Leaning over, I smile. “Are you happy, Angel?”

“So happy. I couldn’t be more happy.”

“Good. But I’ll take that as a challenge and I’ll make you pay tonight.”

She flushes and swats my shoulder but doesn’t tell me not to say things like that.

I watch her mingle in our friends and smile. It lights up the room and I can’t stop watching her, entranced. Her blond hair is up in a bundle of curls that my fingers itch to pull loose and tear apart.

She turns to the side and I see the small curve of her belly and for once, I feel whole. I have a family now. A woman that I can’t live without, that means more to me than anything in this world. And she’s about to give me a child. A little piece of her. And I hope to fuck she’s as beautiful as her mother.

Two angels on earth. That’s what I hope my future holds. And then a little devil who looks like me and will take care of my angels if anything ever happens to me.

It’s all I’ve ever wanted. A woman who loves me and children to carry on and make our lives more.

Her hand caresses her belly and the woman she’s talking to smiles. You can’t help but smile at my Harleigh.

I wander over and pull her into my arms. Where she belongs. She lifts her head and gifts me with one of those radiant smiles. It’s everything.
