Her eyes glittered and she was blinking quickly. “What?” Her husky drawl stirred his dick.

“I think we are ready for some real fun. Where are you hiding that pink companion of yours? And are the batteries new?”

EPILOGUE

New Year’s Eve,one year later

“Well, love. You are the toast of Broadway.” Aiden clinked his glass to Maylis’s. “Just as I knew you would be.”

“I’m not the only one, am I? This show of yours will win you a Tony.” Sheer joy filled her.

He grinned. “Only because you are the lead.”

She leaned in and breathed him in. “Happy birthday, Aiden. I love you so much, I ache inside.”

“This year represents something much more important, love. A new year’s wedding is the perfect beginning of our life together.”

“Yes,” she whispered, surrendering to his passion and the cheers of the friends who were sharing this perfect start to their life together.

AUTHOR’S NOTE

Bold Vibes Onlyis a standalone story set in myIn the Doghouseseries, which will debut in early 2023. You don’t need to have read any of my prior books to enjoy Grace and Cameron’s wild goose chase on New Year’s Eve.

I wrote this story as a love letter to anyone who knows exactly what to say to a bully intent on undermining reproductive rights, as well as anyone whowishesthey had the perfect words in that moment.

I also wrote this story for fans ofThe Bearon FX. Carmie and his tattoos were quite the inspiration.

GRACE

My ass isnumb from the concrete by the time I hear the squeak of the back door.

I exhale quietly, condensation swirling around my head as I strain to catch the sound of his shoes on the deck, the flick of the lighter, the contented sigh. His ritual.

I’m so surprised he’s home tonight that I don’t even pause to overthink it. I just open my mouth and call, “Those things’ll kill you” across the dark stretch of our lawns. Except I’m so nervous that the words come out as a garbled, “Thngsllkillyew.”

Good God. Maybe he didn’t hear me.

But nope. A laugh carries across the cold night, as weightless as the flakes drifting from the sky.

“I only let myself have one a week.”
