"Break it off," he laughed. "I want you more than ever. I don't quite understand what it is, but every time I'm around you, something tells me, this is so right, between us." He admitted.

Her breath hitched. And slowly, a shy smile lit her face, "I-I missed you too! I can't explain it either, I've never felt like this before. I hardly know you, and yet…every time you kiss me, something tells me it doesn't matter, that I'll get to know you. That everything will work out."

For the first time today he smiled and it melted her heart.

"It's only been two days, but you are all I've thought about. You and the thought that we are to marry." He confessed easily. "I guess I thought you wouldn't say yes. I know some of this seems forward to you. Like I'm rushing you, and I guess in truth, I am, but we will be good together, I just know it."

"You are a gentleman, you are handsome and clean, and you kiss…."

"Yes?" He encouraged her with a slight smile.

p; She blinked and looked up into his knowing face. "You make a girl think all kinds of things. I thought when I saw your face today, that I had been too forward about the kissing…I was sure of it."

"Much too forward!" He laughed but added. "And I'm so glad."

He led her to a tree and proceeded to kiss her again. The kiss ignited something inside her, like a slow burning fire that was beginning to burn out of control. She felt it from deep inside her belly, something building, consuming. His kiss went everywhere, all over her face, down her neck and stopping at her earlobe. There he blew gently and she shivered.

"That does strange things to me…" she said breathlessly. She glanced into his face. "Was it on purpose."

"Yes…" His lips smiled against her cheek.

She panted, and pushed him away suddenly.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"You don't understand. I'm not used to this kissing. It does things to me. Strange and wonderful things, but I dare not say what."

"You don't have to. I know…"

"You do?" She looked flabbergasted.

"I do…" When she smiled shyly at him, he took her hand, kissed it and then walked her back to the house. She didn't know why but she was silent. Just walking with him, just being beside him was enough. She drew courage from him.

No one was outside, when they returned to the house, and he pulled her closer to explain. "We aren't even married yet…and I want you!"

"Want me?" She asked perplexed. What did that mean? Would he be like the pigs beside the barn, rutting her. Were humans different than people when it came to that? She didn't know. There were so many things she didn't know. She wanted to know…badly. "Perhaps I'm too naïve for you. I've never been kissed…I mean…like you kiss me. I suppose I have a lot to learn, yet."

"Like I kiss you?" His eyes smiled at her. "I'm going to have to go slower with you, and we are going to have to cut some of the kissing out." He announced turning away.

"Why?" She blurted then colored. It wasn't the question, it was the way she asked it, as though it disappointed and confused her.

"Because if we continue, the kissing it might lead to more things, things you aren't ready for…"

"Like making love?" She asked softly.

"How did you know that?"

"My mother talked to me a little about that. She wanted me to be prepared." Beth explained. "Tell me, is making love like…well…. like the animals do it?"

He made a strange face and then realized she was serious. "No…" He stared at her innocent face. "Not exactly. When a man and a woman come together, it should be a beautiful thing. When you are sure you love someone, making love is an incredible experience. But making love is for people who are really in love. Do you understand that? It's not something you jump into blindly, like a kiss, but by choice and decision. It should only be shared when you are ready to give of yourself."

"We can kiss, but nothing else?" She questioned.

"Well, I hadn't thought that far ahead." Wade looked seriously at her now. "I promised not to do anything until you are ready, and because you are inexperienced, you might think you are before you are."

"That doesn't make sense."
