He continues his teasing pace with his fingers until I’m writhing against the blankets, aching for release. “Please,” I beg.

He growls, covering me with his body, kissing me with a fervor he’s never exhibited before, sliding his cock back and forth against my leg. “I need you to know something, Riley.”

“Mmm?” I moan, trying to wriggle lower, to push myself onto him.

“I never hated you. Not even for a second. I knew you were it from the moment I first saw you. First scented you. And it scared the ever-loving shit out of me.”

My eyes fly open at his admission, and I see the truth there in his eyes. My own eyes fill with hot tears, unable to contain my emotions with everything I’m feeling.Have feltover the last few hours.

“I love you too, Thane,” I say, because I know that’s what he means, and he smiles down at me.

A nervousness twists his brow as he shifts upward, easing into me with a teeth-baring groan. Once he’s seated, he flexes his hips, locking us together, not with a knot, but in some other way that takes all the air from my lungs.

He grins at my reaction before easing out to thrust back inside, slow and powerful, each thrust harder than the last.

His face pinches, and I feel his knot swelling hard already.

“Please,” I say on a breath. “Please, Thane”.

His teeth graze my neck, and then he bites into me at the exact moment he forced his knot into me. That delicious dual pressure explodes into fireworks, bright and shiny and perfect. Thane’s absolute love for me shines through the bond, fusing itself to my soul.

Thane pulls me against him, and I tuck my chin to nuzzle into the crook of his neck. Miles returns still damp from his shower and holds me from behind, his arm draped across my hip as he presses soft kisses into my hair. Fox and Levi join us, draping arms and legs every which way until we are all touching and basking in the warm afterglow of our bonding.

“Is it everything you hoped?” Thane whispers into my ear.

“Everything,” I murmur. “Everything and more.”

TWENTY-NINE

“Hey,”a voice murmurs against my ear. “It’s time to wake up, Riley.”

The words are echoed by a kiss on my temple.

I stretch out the muscle kinks from sleeping in a pile of Alphas for the third night and blink my eyes open to see Thane in front of me, already dressed for the day. The amount of sex I’ve had over the last few days should be illegal. My body aches in a hundred different ways, but I don’t regret even a second of the time we’ve spent here in the nest, literallyridingout my first full heat.

“Five more minutes?”

“Nope.” He grins and kisses me on the nose before reaching out a hand. He pulls me to a seated position, and the movement disturbs Miles, whose arms were wrapped tightly around my middle.

“Is it time?” he says in a panic, sitting straight up and whipping his head around.

“It’s time,” I say, taking his chin in mine not only for a kiss but also to keep him still before he gets more nervous. “My first injections are in”—I check the digital clock on the nightside table—“forty-five minutes.”

I glance at Fox and Levi to find them wrapped up around each other, still asleep. Good. I need a few moments to myself before they wake up. I crawl out of the nest and head toward the bathroom, closing the door behind me.

A tremor shakes me, both from nerves and the cervus traveling through my body. I’m going to receive the first dosage of the experimental treatment this morning, and from what Thane and his parents have warned me, the side effects are nasty.

Vomiting, stomach pains, fatigue, and even decreased immunity. The last one is why the Alphas are rotating out their time in the nest with me. I still need one of them close to help with my healing, but last night was the final time we would all sleep together in the nest until the treatment is over.

I brush my teeth and hair, trying to imagine being even weaker than I am now, maybe too weak to even hold a toothbrush or hairbrush. I’m scared, but I’m trying to fight it. I don’t need that terror going over the pack bonds. The others are already worried as it is.

“Riley? Are you all right?” Levi raps on the door. Shit. He must have picked up my worry.

“I’m fine!” I call out, running my brush through my hair one last time. I open the door to find Levi frowning at me.
