“Hi.”

“Fuck’s sake,” Oakley mutters, grabbing Abigail’s hand. “Come on, Abs. Let’s leave the lovebirds to it.”

Reese takes a step closer, the air growing thin around us. “You’re here.”

“I’m here.” His brows pinch, and I add, “We brought cake.”

“You did, huh?” Desire and hunger swirl in his eyes as he reaches for me, cupping my face. “I missed you this afternoon.”

“It was only a few hours.”

“A few too many.” Reese dips his head, fixing his mouth over mine and kissing me. Tiny sparks of electricity shoot off round my body, my skin vibrating with need.

“Hi,” he breathes.

“Hi.”

“Fuck, Liv. The things I want to do to you.” He touches his head to mine.

“We can’t,” I sigh. “Not here. Oakley will kill you.”

“It’d be worth it though.” A wicked glint lights up Reese’s eyes.

“Yo, lovebirds,” Elliot bellows from the living room. “Get in here before Tally and Oak kill each other.”

“Oh, shit,” Reese chuckles, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “Later,” he promises.

I smile, emotion clogging my throat. “I’ll hold you to that.”

“Oh my God, we did it. We beat you.” Tally holds up her hand to high-five Charli, the lads looking dumbfounded at the girls’ domination of their silly video game.

“That’s not… how is that even possible?” Oak asks. “Are you sure you two haven’t played this before?”

“Seriously?” Charli frowns. “We’re not that lame.”

“I’m hungry,” Reese whispers, pulling me closer into his side. “For cake and—”

“Stop.” Heat flows through me, making my stomach curl.

It’s been nice, being here at the Chapel with them. Charli and Tally give as good as they get where the lads are concerned, which is probably a good thing considering the simmering animosity between my brother and Tally.

I smile to myself. I know how easily hatred can turn to something else, and I can’t help but wonder if maybe another Heir will lose his head and heart over a girl soon.

“What’s that look for?” Reese asks, his lips brushing the shell of my ear.

“Nothing. Just thinking…”

“Am I going to have to tickle it out of you?” His fingers dig into my waist and I smother a yelp.

Everyone glances in our direction.

“What?” I feign innocence.

“I can’t believe I’ve got to spend the rest of the year watching my sister and my best friend get off with each other.” Oak rubs his jaw.

“Fuck off, Beckworth. You’re only jealous.”
