He chuckles and gives me one last featherlight kiss, right on my nose.

That one, I feel down to my tiptoes.

Dick.

ChapterTwenty-Four

My body was on fire seconds ago, but as seconds pass, I feel empty, dirty, and weak.

I pretend Camden’s not here as I straighten up, move my panties back in place, and wash my face. Mercifully, he doesn’t say a word, leaning against one of the cubicles and watching me.

I bandage the wounds on my feet as best I can, glaring at Camden through the mirror when I catch his scrutinizing eyes on me. But we don’t exchange a word. Small favors.

I don’t know what to make of this. I wasn’t in control of my mind or my body while his hands were on me. I always knew Camden was dangerous to my wellbeing, but I never realizedIwas.

“My break is over.”

“Are you going to go back to work with your cum all over your legs, Morgan?”

I washed up as much as I could, and it’s not like anyone’s going to check up my skirt.

I straighten my spine and turn to face him.

“Looks like it.” I can’t help my blush, but I appear as unbothered as I can otherwise.

I return to my locker to put my bag back in there, and I find a familiar white box inside.

The shoes.

I roll my eyes at Camden, following in silence, but I do put them on. My feet are a mess, and I’m too tired of fighting him—at least for today.

Highhanded dick.

Camden returns to the café with me and stands in my section, only ordering a drink he doesn’t touch.

I do my best to pretend he doesn’t exist, and fail. I catch his heated gaze a hundred time, and feel it right back between my legs.

Oh, god what did he do to me?

My shift is supposed to end at six, but when Faith begs me to stay another hour, I give in. I wouldn’t have accepted if it wasn’t for the new shoes, but I don’t feel as horrible as I did before my break. They’re as comfortable as slippers, yet supportive. I’m still in pain because of the blisters, but the shoes are a huge improvement.

I usually walk back home after work—the apartment is only a twenty-minute walk away—but when I get out of the café, there’s a shiny black Audi waiting right in front. Camden rolled the driver’s window down and rests his arm on it, wordlessly offering me a ride.

I should ignore him, for so many reasons. What he’s done, what he wants from me. This man issofrustrating, I don’t have the energy to deal with his shit now. But I also know he’s here because I’m in pain. And what’s the worst he can do to me? Rape me? He could have done that in the bathroom if he wanted to. Touch me some more? It’s not unlikely, but my relationship with Trent was already set on fire the moment I stopped fighting while Camden fingered me.

My feetarehurting, and I’m tired, so at the risk of confusing him, I circle the car, slide into the passenger seat, and reluctantly mutter, “Thank you for the ride.”

Somewhere between the bathroom and the car, I stopped being afraid of him. I still don’t intend to become his plaything, but he’s just some spoiled brat obsessed with the first girl to pose a challenge, not a serial killer. I can handle him.

“Any time, princess. Seatbelt.”

I fasten my seatbelt and he takes off.

The car is as stylish and comfortable inside as out, and smells of new leather. It must have been a recent acquisition.

I tap my fingers on my thigh, the silence awkward, filled with all the things unsaid after the bathroom episode.

I reach out to the control panel between us. “How does the music work on this thing?”
