CAMDEN

Life couldn’t get much better than this. I have the most amazing girlfriend anyone could ask for. Our team has won all five games we have played this season already. My grades are better than they’ve ever been, with the help of said amazing girlfriend.

I’m happy. Genuinely happy.

The last four weeks have flown by. Blaire spends most nights at my house where we have mind-blowing sex, something she never thought she would enjoy, but I have been able to help her learn her own body each night. She knows what she wants, and my sexy girl has discovered a liking for my dick, my fingers, and my mouth.

Since the incident at Whiskey Joe’s, Garrett convinced the owner to tear down the wall between the stage and the hallway leading to the bathroom, making it completely open. Blaire and the other waitresses have felt much safer with the renovation and there is a weight lifted off my shoulders since I can’t be there every shift to look out for her.

Being in a relationship has been much easier than I thought it would be. I don’t feel like Blaire is tying me down or I don’t have the freedom to do what I want. She isn’t the kind of girl to get mad when I don’t text her throughout the day or have to cancel plans we made. She’s easygoing, and I love her for that.

Although right now, she is anything but the chill girl I have grown fond of. Sitting beside me in my Jeep, Blaire can’t seem to stop fidgeting. I place my hand on her bouncing leg and she turns her head from the window to look at me.

“I’m sorry,” she says, biting her lip. “I’m just nervous.”

“I told you they’re going to love you.”

“But it’syour mom. And your sister. The two women in your life. What if they hate me? What if they don’t think I’m good enough for you?”

Blaire has been worried about meeting my mom and Trazia since my mom asked us over for lunch a week ago. We finally had some time today since Blaire doesn’t have to tutor or work at the bar and it’s Friday, the day before a game, and there is no practice.

“They aretwoof thethreewomen in my life, and my mom already likes you from everything I’ve told her. Trust me, she’s just happy I found someone to date and I’m not sleeping around anymore.” My girl makes a face of disgust and I know she hates the thought of my dating life before her.

“Gross. I can’t believe you were hoeing it around and your mom knew.”

I shrug. “What can I say, with a face as pretty as this, how can you expect ladies not to be attracted to me?”

Blaire rolls her eyes and pushes my hand off her thigh. “You’re ridiculous.”

Laughing, I shift down a gear as we get off the exit. “Yes, but I’myourridiculous.”

“That was too cheesy,” she groans.

The house I grew up in isn’t a far drive from where I live now. About an hour or so. One of the reasons I wanted to go to Braxton so badly was because I was still close to my mom and sister. My mom can’t come to as many games as I would like, but on the weekends she doesn’t have to work, she and Trazia drive out for them. She promised she’ll be at the next game for sure.

We pull into the short driveway of my childhood home. While it is small, I can’t imagine growing up anywhere else. It is a one-story, boho-style house. The exterior is a dark gray with an open porch in the front with two outdoor chairs and large, square pillars in the front supporting the roof of the porch. The house is open and filled with windows, but my mom finds it weird that people could be looking in at any time, so she put white curtains up years ago. The front door is solid wood and a dark green color with a gold knocker on it.

After helping Blaire out of the Jeep, I grab her slightly damp hand and give her a reassuring squeeze. She takes a deep breath, and we head up the driveway. Before we can make it to the door, my mom swings it open with her arms wide.

“You’re here! Trazia, they’re here!” she yells.

“I can see that,” my sister responds from somewhere in the house.

Mom comes down the three steps from the porch and pulls me into a hug. “My baby. I’ve missed you so much. It’s been forever.”

“Hey, I thought I was the baby?” Trazia grumbles from the doorway. We can argue about this all day and night, but I’ll forever be my mom’s baby.

Without breaking the chokehold she has on my neck, my mom responds to her. “You’re my baby girl. Cammy is my baby boy.” Pulling back, she winks at me.

Yeah, forever a mama’s boy.

While my mom is in her early forties, you wouldn’t know it by looking at her. She is active and because of nursing, she needs to stay in good shape. She is lean but strong and she only started graying a couple years ago. Although she has Trazia color her hair on a regular basis. My mom’s skin is a light olive tone, and her face is clear and bright. She has a faint hint of crow’s feet along the side of her round eyes that are the same color as mine. Her smile is wide and welcoming, helping her win over all her patients. My mother is a beautiful woman, and my sister and I are lucky to get the majority of our looks from her.

Turning to Blaire, my mom stretches her arms and pulls my girl into a hug. “It’s great to finally meet you, Blaire. Cammy has told me so much about you, I feel like we already know each other.” Leave it to my mom to embarrass me in front of my girlfriend by telling her how much I’ve talked to my mom about us.

Blaire smiles at me over my mom’s shoulder and then back at my mom. “It’s wonderful to meet you also, Ms. Collins.”
