That explains so much. Sneaky, devious demon.

Chelsea tosses the mascara tube back onto the pile of cases and bottles on her dresser and clutches her heart as she inspects me. “Perfect.”

“I agree.”

Both of us jump from Titan’s voice. He stands in the doorway eyeing me with approval while Chelsea gapes at him.

“Shit Titan, you scared us!”

This time he points to his sister as he strides to me. “Watch your mouth.”

His demeanor softens when he grins down at me and offers his arm. Without comment, I accept, wrapping my hand around his bicep. The thick muscle flexes under my fingers. He’s just as affected by my touch as I am by his.

With my free hand, I drag Chelsea into a hug. “Thank you. You make me feel beautiful.”

She squeezes me hard. “You are. Have fun. I’m going to Facetime Maxim. He’s got a lot of explaining to do before I forgive him too.”

Too.

Have I forgiven Titan?

I don’t know.

Now that Titan knows the truth she doesn’t have to sneak around and can communicate with Maxim all she wants. I love seeing her so strong. “You have fun too. Good luck.”

I stroke Pete’s silky fur and nuzzle his snout, telling him good-bye too. His eyes slip shut again once Chelsea flops on the mattress next to him. He’ll doze contentedly while she’s on her phone. I know they’ll both be fine while we’re gone.

Titan strokes his head a few times too. “Stay in here tonight buddy and you’ll get steak for breakfast.”

I ignore the implication. If Titan thinks I’m sleeping with him tonight rather than my dog, he really has lost his mind.

Titan

Addie truly is the most magnificent woman I’ve ever seen. The crazy thing is she’s not even trying. Her unique combination of innocence and independence makes her that much more spectacular.

Natural pink flushes her cheeks as she takes in the empty restaurant while we’re escorted to our table. “Oh!”

The sweet little gasp she lets out when we near the windows framing a fantastic sunset entices my dick. I fucking love that sound.

I shake my head at the maître ‘d when he attempts to pull out a chair for her. No chance he’s touching her. Besides, she’s not finished enjoying the view. Almost as much as the one I’m relishing while staring at her with the orange and gold streams reflecting on her gorgeous face.

I dismiss him with a head jerk toward the door. He scurries away while I wrap my arms around her tiny waist and rest my chin on the top of her head, loving the sensation of her body smashed to mine. “That’s one of the reasons I picked this place, and I’m glad it didn’t disappoint.”

“It doesn’t. At all.”

Her breathless agreement tempts me almost more than I can stand. I want to feast on her instead of dinner. Rather than spread her across the table, I clutch her tighter. ‘I’m glad you like it. Happy birthday, angel.”

My words do the trick, and she finally sinks into me, curling her hands around my forearm.

“Thank you. I love it.”

I tip my head down and kiss her temple. “I love you.”

Cool skin warms under my lips. She wiggles in my embrace, needing release from the intensity. My girl’s still wary despite how tough she is. I get it.

I slide my hand to her lower back and escort her to the seat facing the glass so she can enjoy twilight during our meal. I corner her so as not to block the horizon as well as keep an eye on the entrance. My men are out there protecting us, but you never know.

Her gaze flicks to me but doesn’t hold steady. Not sure why she’s nervous.
