Passion sparks between us, and all at once, the sweet soft kisses turn hard and demanding. His hands are everywhere, and I rock myself against him.

Just as his hands begin to slide down my body, the door is unlocked and pushed open.

“No! No, you don’t.”

“Oh, you annoying, sneaky, piece of shit! I hate you. Go away!” Reese snaps gruffly as Travis storms into the room and grabs him by the arm.

“Absolutely not. We didn’t spend all this time training for you to weaken your legs the day before the fight just to get a little of your girlfriend’s goodies. Not going to happen,” Travis chides Reese.

The look of utter disappointment and frustration on Reese’s face forces me to burst out into laughter. Poor baby.

“Tomorrow. You can have all you want as soon as that bell rings,” I say, and that brings a smile to Reese’s face.

“It’ll be the quickest fight in history.” He gives me a quick wink just as Travis tugs him the rest of the way out of the locker room.

I knew when I came here tonight that I was going to need to prove my feelings for Reese. It was hard, and it yanked me clear out of my comfort zone, but it was a battle worth fighting.

Reese and I are back together, and I couldn’t be happier.

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

REESE

Tonight’s the night.

I’m going to finally go up against Niko and show him who the better boxer is. I held the title as champ for a reason. I worked my ass off for it and didn’t allow myself to be pulled into skims to hedge a match. That’s not the type of man I am.

Last night, though, it took everything in me not to beat the hell out of Niko for talking to Haven. His words still make me want to beat his face into a bloody pulp. I hate the smug bastard, and I’m looking forward to bringing him down a notch or two.

Travis, Rhett, Corey, and I got to the location we are using for the fight. According to Corey, they had to move the fight to a larger space due to the word spreading about my match against Niko. Bets are being placed up to thousands of dollars on who will win. I hate to be the ones who think Niko will win because there’s no way in hell that will be happening.

I feel better than I have in weeks. I’ve got my woman back, and I know she’ll be in the crowd tonight. There’s no way she’s going to miss this, especially considering after the fight, we’re gonna continue what Travis interrupted last night.

Hell, Travis even bunked at my house along with Rhett to make sure I didn’t go to Haven’s. They’ve got this thing about the night before matches. No sex or anything pleasuring beforehand. This means I spent the night with blue balls. That’s okay, though, ‘cause I know soon I’ll have Haven in my arms. And waiting for her is worth it.

“You ready, Reese?” Travis asks, pulling me from my thoughts.

I grin and meet his gaze. “You know I’m ready.”

Smirking, Travis shakes his head. “I’m sure you are.”

“Looks like you’ve got your shit straight with Haven.” Rhett chuckles.

“Yeah,” I say, grinning like a loon.

“You all can talk about sex and shit with women later. Right now, it’s all about getting through this fight,” Corey mutters, putting an end to all conversation regarding Haven and me working our shit out.

Time ticks by, and soon, I get ready to head to the ring. Travis heads out first, I’m sure to join the rest of the group. Tonight, Rhett and Corey are in my corner, and I couldn’t be happier to have them there.

According to Corey, my previous coach will be in Niko’s corner. This doesn’t surprise me, considering he’d switched to Niko’s team when shit went down. I’m sure they think they have me considering he’d been training me for years. But he doesn’t know half of what I’m capable of doing in the ring.

Corey puts my headphones on me and tells me to get in the zone while Rhett wraps my hands and slides my gloves in place. I let the music playing wash over me. I shouldn’t be surprised that Metallica’s playing in my ear, but I am.

“Ready?” Rhett asks when he’s done, and Corey pulls the headphones off.

“Yeah.” I nod and stand.

“Then let’s get out there. They’ve just announced Niko,” Corey says, clasping a hand over my shoulder. “Remember, when we get out there, block everything else out for now. Don’t pay any attention to the sounds and cheers.”
