Stacey groaned unable to control her response to him and finally admitted to him, “It might be.”

“So does that mean you want to continue on this route?” he grinned slipping his hands up her back reaching for her bra.

“I don’t know, alright; I just know I can’t resist it when you touch me like this.”

“Why fight it?”

“Because I don’t want to be another of Jake Warren’s girls,” she stated flatly.

“You’ll never be one of those girls, Cee; you’ll always be my Cee,” he told her.

“What the hell,” she smiled.

“Now then what about that food?” he asked kissing her neck.

“Room service, definitely room service,” she answered.

“Do you want to look at the menu?”

“Later,” she whispered as his hands found her breasts, “much, much later.”

He smiled scooping her up in his arms depositing her on the bed with an imaginary pat on the back.Round one goes to me, he thought before passion overcame them.

Stacey was smiling at her computer screen when her assistant walked into the room.

“I’m sorry to interrupt Stacey but Dr. Jensen is here to see you. He doesn’t have an appointment though,” Dina said.

“It’s not a problem Dina,” she told her. Dina left her office and Dr. Jensen came in a moment later. “Dr. Jensen, I’m surprised to see you here. What can I do for you?”

“Quite a lot I hope, and please call me Mark,” he said. He was an up-and-coming doctor working with pediatric patients. She had met him last year at the annual fundraiser for the hospital her latest date had taken her. He’d been charming and much more entertaining than her date had been, the first and last time she dated an auditor for the IRS. Mark was handsome but she hadn’t felt anything for him other than friendship.

“Mark,” she said, gesturing to the chairs in the corner of her office. She hated feeling trapped across her desk from her clients and had set up her office to include a more informal setting. “What can I do for you?”

“Well, I was hoping you’d help us,” he began. “We’re looking to expand the children’s ward to include family suites for our long-term patients and are trying to set up a fundraiser. The problem is no one can agree on what it should be.”

“And where do I fit into this?” she asked.

“We were hoping you’d come onboard and help us with everything. Stacey, the others on the hospital board love it when you help, between your PR skills and your amazing memory you can convince more people to part with their hard-earned money than anyone I know.”

Stacey laughed, “Flattery, nice touch. Okay, what exactly are the options on the table?”

“Everything under the sun,” he admitted. “We’ve had suggestions for dance-a-thons, silent auctions, 5k walk/runs, bake sales even, but no one seems to agree on anything. We’re about to settle on a dinner and dance, the same ol’ same ol’ type of evening. We need something grand if we’re going to raise enough for the expansion.”

“Alright,” she said an idea forming in the back of her mind. “When’s your next meeting on this?”

“Thursday,” he said half pleading.

“Okay let me give it a little thought and I’ll see you all Thursday,” she smiled.

“You’ll help then?” he asked relief oozing through his words.

“I’ll do my best, are you meeting at the hospital?”

“Yes, six o’clock barring any emergencies.”

“I’ll be there,” she agreed. She showed him out and told Dina, “I’m going to be out for the rest of the afternoon. If there’s anything that pops up, I’ll have my phone on me.”
