“We’re trying to figure out if they can be removed and taken for disposal without worrying about detonation, but these are bigger than the hammer ones Stacey,” Jim added.

“Okay, let’s see them,” she said ignoring the argument from Rice as they headed out. When they got to the first site, she recognized it instantly and knew this wasn’t going to be easy. A quick look at the bomb told her they couldn’t move it without starting the timer and she cursed the three and her luck.

“Where are the others you’ve located?” she asked, and he showed her on the map where they were. “Six…you’ve located six so far?”

“Yeah why?” Galen questioned seeing the look that crossed her face.

“Nathaniel would never let them stop at six. It’d be five or eleven but never six.”

“You’re telling me there are going to be five more of these somewhere in the city?” Jim asked.

“Yeah, and these spots where they’ve been found are all places where one of the three tried to hurt me. I guarantee you go to my house and there’ll be one there and another at the office,” she sighed trying to figure it all out.

“So, what do we do about this one?” Jim inquired as she turned her attention back to it.

“We diffuse it and then you can remove it,” she stated and the other two got their things ready. She looked between them and nodded knowing she wasn’t ready, and she never would be truly. She didn’t want to mess with these things again. The first time had been insane, and she’d barely slept afterwards but now, it would be impossible she knew.

Somehow, she managed to get through the problem without losing her mind and as the rest of the bomb squad carefully removed the bomb she, Jim, and Galen headed to the next site. They got a message that there was one at her place as well as her work and she tried to think where the others might be.

“Oh god…Emma and Miles,” she said looking at them. “There’s one there I know.”

“We’ll check on them and their place Stacey,” Jim promised. “We need you with us so we can stop this.”

“I know…okay,” she said getting her emotions under control. “Let’s finish this.”

They managed to make their way around the other sites diffusing them, they found one at Emma and Miles’ house, and it made nine. Two more to go, she mused trying to figure out where they’d be.

“What about Seaside,” she asked when they’d finished with the last one, they’d discovered. “It’s not open yet and all three have followed me there.”

“Let’s take a look,” Jim stated and when they arrived, it was to find Cole unconscious just inside the front door and a gift for them. “Guess you were right.”

“Unfortunately,” she groaned covering her face with her hands for a moment to stop the fear and panic from taking over. “Okay, let’s get this thing taken care of so hopefully we can figure out the last one.”

They managed to get it diffused and out of the place as the paramedics put Cole onto the stretcher to take for evaluation. Her phone rang and she looked at the id. It was Jake and something told her to answer.

“Jake…”

“Stacey,” he stated, and she knew something was wrong. He never called her Stacey, especially not since they went public.

“Where are you, Jake?” she asked stopping the two men with a look.

“We’re at the training facility just finishing up and I wanted to know where you were. I’ll see you at home later, right?”

“Of course, they’re there aren’t they?”

“Nothing’s going on here Stacey, just the normal.”

“Jake please be careful,” she whispered as they got into the car.

“Always Stacey, don’t you remember the championship game where I got sacked? It’s just like that,” he told her, and she knew it was bad.

“We’ll be there as soon as possible,” she told him before the line went dead. “They’re there—they have Jake and the others.”

“You’re sure?” Galen asked.

“Jake called me Stacey—henevercalls me that when he’s talking to me. He asked me about the championship game when he got sacked but he never got sacked in one while we were together. He has to mean they’re at the field.”

“Alright let’s take this one carefully,” Jim said calling for more people knowing the facility was enormous. They could be anywhere, but she knew it was the field. Jake wouldn’t have mentioned anything about a game, real or not if it wasn’t.
