“Nyx, cheerful as always,” I greeted.

“What’s going on?”

“In general? Or with MC?” Digger asked him.

“General.”

“Digger wants to know why a clubwhore can’t convince Maverick to come downstairs when the man wants to be left alone.”

“It’s fucking weird how you know so much about everyone, MaryCat,” Link mused. “Especially when you don’t hang out here often.”

“I listen,” I pointed out. “Plus, I have a job and studies—”

“Hell, that ain’t a complaint. Can you imagine how much you’d know if youdidhang out here?” Link whistled. “Steel’d lose his job.”

Steel offered, “You can be Secretary, MC. No one else I’d trust with the position.”

“That’s quite all right,” I said primly. “If you want to resign, though, Digger would look great on the council.”

“MC!” Digger chided.

“What?” I swung up to see him better—it didn’t work. “You’d be so good on the council. You’re wasted doing what you do.”

“She has a point. You really are,” Nyx rumbled. “You should talk to Storm about him giving you more opportunities. I figure you don’t want to go on as many runs?”

I didn’t pipe up then, knowing this was technically ‘MC’ (and not me) business, but I squirmed on his shoulder, hoping he’d agree.

“Yeah. You know how I work. I’m more about the gathering of intel than anything else. I’ll speak with Storm.”

Nyx grunted.

He was an odd duck.

It was like he cared about nothing, but he cared about everything.

Men were strange. I was lucky that Digger was semi-normal.

“You taking her to the field beyond Rachel’s?” Steel asked Digger.

“Yeah.”

“You old romantic you,” Link joked, shoving him again, which, of course, jostled me in turn. “Never thought I’d see the day that Digger got all mushy over some broad.”

“Hey! I’m not some broad. I’m his wife.” My tone turned smug. “Andhis Old Lady.”

“DON’T SHOW US YOUR BRAND AGAIN.”

My cheeks flushed when all three men declared that at the same time. “Shut up. I don’t show everyone.”

“You really fucking do.” Nyx took a sip of his beer. “You need to get her to stop flashing it, Digger.”

My man just chuckled and tapped me on the butt. “She’s cute. What’s a Sinner to do?”

I didn’t have to look at Nyx to know he was rolling his eyes. It was practically audible. “Go and be romantic, dipshit.”

Link cackled. “Your way with words is improving, Nyx.”

“You,”Nyx growled, “shouldn’t even be here. You’re supposed to fix my fucking bike—”
