He shook his head giving me my answer. I paused for just a moment, taking him in. Those dark eyes telling me to drop it. There was no way I could. There was no way people went around in the world never celebrating their birthdays.

Mason wasn’t a man that got pushed often.

I knew that.

He did the pushing.

Not this time,I thought.

“I won’t hear of this,” I lifted my chin.

“What?”

“We’re celebrating your birthday,” I lifted my chin with a fake haughty air. “And it’s all on Mr. DeLuca. So, let’s go get our drink on. My sister is always telling me to have more fun. So, I’m doing just that and I’m dragging you along.”

“Nora…”

“Mason…stop. I won’t let up. I’m like a dog with a bone right now.”

Clapping my hands together I stood and went over to one of my suitcases that contained shoes. I popped down on the floor looking for the perfect pair. I felt his eyes on me.

“I really like shoes. Go freshen up…”

“Nora, I’m not going to be good company.”

That made me laugh out loud. “You’re not much for company now! I’m going to run analytics on this computer and have the data sent to my phone so if we get a hit on something interesting you can go play hero to Gisella. But in the meantime….We drink!”

He grumbled and for a few moments I thought he might protest even more. Instead, he trudged from the room defeated and slunk back to his side of the hotel. My eyes returned to the fifteen pairs of shoes I’d brought with me. That was when my eyes lit up and I found the perfect black boots that worked themselves up and over my thighs.

“Yasss,” I voiced.

Heels were a deep obsession of mine. I’d never met a pair I didn’t love. I could still remember the year I’d turned three, and got my first pair of purple kitten heels. My mother hadn’t been able to pull them off of me and I’d insisted on wearing them to church.

Once I freshened up and got ready, I noted that it had been a few hours. The analytics had been set up on my phone as promised and I knocked on the door between our rooms. Mason answered so swiftly with just a towel hugging around his waist, I wondered if he’d been standing there the entire time.

My eyes ate up every single inch of him. The silver bars inserted into his nipples begged for my fingertips, which flexed by my side. Very little hair covered his chest, and my eyes tracked it all the way down his taut stomach that was ripped with abs.

He worked out.

Yes in-fucking-deed,I thought.

He gave a little toss of his hair and water droplets danced in the air, spraying me and killing the moment. I held up a hand and shielded myself.

“Watch it,” I replied.

“What, don’t like getting wet?” The way he said those words and the way I let them hang there for way to long let him know that he’d shocked me.

I rolled my eyes, and watched as he retreated back. My breath hitched in my throat. I hadn’t seen it that day at the waterfall but there was a raven on Mason’s back. As he moved and flexed it seemed to watch me.

“I should let you….” The words died on my lips as the towel dropped and he turned, his dick swinging into view.

Did this man have any shame?

Girl, that thang will wreck ya world. Run!

Pierced.

Pressure.
