“No,” he replied. “I’ll be back on duty for Sebastian full time.”

I nodded and began to scroll through my phone, the program I’d placed on it was still pulling in data. I’d managed to mirror Gisella’s computer on my device. If she’d made even the slightest update on her own phone, I was going to see it.

Mason said something and I looked up, dropping cream cheese on my lap.

“Huh?”

He was looking out the window at something and suddenly standing up. Out of nowhere he drew a gun from his person and pulled back the slide on it. “Stay here!”

My eyes grew wide.

Where in the fuck did he get a gun from?

“Where would I go?” I hollered after him.

Mason was already gone like a shadow moving away from sunlight. Getting the cream cheese out of my lap and realizing I was a messy eater, I dashed over to the window. My eyes were searching and searching to see what he might have seen but nothing looked out of the ordinary. People were walking by, there was nothing strange about the scene below.

Soon, my eyes focused on him. Mason had darted out into the middle of the street. He wore all black in a sea of color and he was looking around intensely. From where I was on the third floor, even I could tell he looked tense as hell.

My phone dinged and I pushed away from the computer. Gisella had made new entries on her calendar and it was slated for tonight. Staring at the phone I looked the entry over again, this time it was different than all the others.

This time, it had an address beside the name.

“Gotcha, bitch,” my words came out in a murmur.

For a long time, I stared at the screen taking in the name of the person and place that Gisella had plans on meeting them.

Davide. The Hellfire Club.

This was the golden ticket home. We just needed to locate and find Gisella and get her on a private jet back to Seattle.

Easy.

Peasy.

ChapterTen

Mason

Iwas on high alert and had been all day. I could have sworn that I’d seen a face in the crowd that I recognized as familiar but by the time I’d gotten down to the street, no one had been there. Italy had me feeling as if I were losing my mind.

My eyes roamed the lobby. To my right, a bartender was mixing drinks for a couple celebrating their anniversary. Casually, I ear hustled just enough to know that it was thirty years’ worth of marriage and they sounded like school kids.

I didn’t think I’d ever have that with anyone.

The life I led was not for the weak.

Rubbing at my temple, I checked my phone for the time.

Any minute now,I thought, looking around the room.

Sitting at the bar, I was waiting on Nora’s ass to make an appearance. We’d looked up the The Hellfire Cluband it appeared to be relatively upscale venue but not much more could be determined about it. She had talked me into bringing her, insisting. I had to admit that Nora had skills. She had cut down the search time for Gisella in what I assumed was half the time. In fact, I probably would have killed a few people by now in order to get the information I desired.

My Corsican loved shit like that. He loved chaos, and rivers of scarlet red blood. The feel of a saw removing body parts butHewasn’t acting like himself…

It was almost as if Nora had scared him.

Was He being shy?
