“You’re welcome, Brie. Have a good night.”

Ending the call, I wobbled away from the desk about to head into the bathroom. The toilet was calling and I didn’t know which end it needed to come out of. Before I could make it to the door of the bathroom, there was a knock on my door.

My nude colored silk robe sat nearby on the hotel dresser, I slipped it on before tying it.

Groaning, I opened the door to find Mason standing there. He was looking like his usual cocky self, but freshly showered and smelling of cedar. Shoving a bag in front of my face, the smell of bagels hit my nose and I lost it. Running from the doorway, I left him standing there.

After I finished throwing up, I came out and found him casually leaning against the desk. He looked up as I dabbed at my mouth.

“Are you okay?” His tone offered concern.

I was remembering last night but decided to play it off.

“Oh, yeah,” I nodded. “I must’ve had a shit ton to drink last night.”

“You went hard for sure,” he came over and touched my forehead.

I smacked his hand away. “Well did you have fun?”

He smirked. “Chasing your drunk ass around Rome was not on my list of fun things to do.”

Play stupid, I thought.

“Oh my God…what?”

Hiding my embarrassment I decided to check out the bagels he’d brought. Pulling out a small container of cream cheese I saw there was everything bagel seasoning in the bag as well. He’d even gotten me a small bottle of orange juice.

“How’d you know I like this?” I held up the cellophane packet of seasonings.

He shrugged and sat down at the desk. “I saw you eating it the other morning.”

My nipples went rock hard as I remembered him cleaning my face off. Pushing the thought away, I smiled and sat down too. “Thank you.”

He shrugged again. “It was nothing.”

Mason watched me assemble the bagel and then I fixed one for him. He accepted it and I watched him eat for a moment. He seemed to enjoy it.

“If you ever wanna get really crazy…I put fresh strawberries on them sometimes. So, fucking good.”

Mason looked at me, surprised by my expletive.

“Gangsta Nora,” he chuckled mocking me. “We don’t want you getting too wild now.”

A blush crept onto my cheeks. Coupled with the memories of last night floating in and out of my head, I was going to be red as a tomato. Tension had crept into the room at Mason’s words. In an attempt to sweep any nervousness out of the room, I turned back to the mission at hand.

“So,” I picked up my phone. “I haven’t’ checked the analytics on Giselle’s computer yet. We should see if she’s done any updating.”

“I’m ready to get out of Italy,” Mason admitted.

“Oh?”

“Yeah, it’s been fun but there’s no place like home.”

“Are you going to go back to your Fortress of Solitude?”

He grinned, the white of his teeth a sharp contrast to the rosy pink of his lips. Mason Zacharra had delicious looking lips.

I cringed when I remembered telling him he was cute last night.
