Mason’s hands were palming my ass cheeks and there was no doubt that he was hard. He was pushed up against my core to the point I could feel his piercing threatening to push through his slacks. I couldn’t help myself and ground down against him.

“You feel so good,” he whispered. “Better than I thought.”

“You too,” I admitted. “But we really should be on the lookout for Gisella.”

“She won’t get past me,” he was studying me very intently. “I’ve waited a long time, Nora. He wouldn’t let me out Nora.”

A feeling of anxiety and excitement shimmied up my back and goosebumps broke out on my flesh. Shaking my head, I tried to clear away the cobwebs. Whatever spell the woman had weaved with her words had not only affected me but it had affected Mason’s personality deeply.

“What?”

“Don’t play dumb, Nora,” Mason’s voice sounded even stranger. “You heard what the fuck I said the first time. I’ve wanted you for a long time, and now there’s just a few pieces of fabric in between what I want. He wants it too.”

The lights in the Hellfire Club went up, breaking the spell on everyone in the room. Mason began rapidly blinking his eyes. He realized I was in his lap and stared up at me. His hands were still on my ass and I could feel my face beginning to color.

I need to get home to my spreadsheets and television shows and my bed, I thought before sliding off Mason’s warm taut body, and to the side. I began fixing my dress back into place.

Before I could explain what had happened, Mason was taking off. I thought to call him back but he was running towards someone.

Gisella DeLuca had been located. In the middle of a crowd that had formed was Mr. DeLuca’s sister passed out in a pile of vomit. From the looks of it, she was heavily over dosing and the man with her looked panicked.

Clearing my head, I rushed over to see how I could help.

The hostess appeared and I spoke to her in rapid Italian, my brain going as fast as it dared. There was a concierge doctor on hand for these situations. The hostess immediately found him, while Mason did compressions on Gisella’s lifeless body.

Finally, he arrived with an old timey doctor’s bag and tried to revive her. Dropping down beside her checked for a pulse and barely found one after shooing Mason out of the way. The doctor pulled out a syringe and I began to translate what was going on to Mason who looked pissed off.

For a moment he studied the syringe before giving it a slight pluck. Spirts of liquid sprayed out of the needle and then he plunged it directly into her chest. I was holding my breath and Mason seemed to have turned white as a sheet.

We continued to hold our breaths.

We waited.

Gisella sat up momentarily looking around and her eyes landed on me before anyone else. She grinned her teeth showing slight decay. She had definitely become a victim of drugs, she was the epitome of strung out.

“Nerdy Fucking Nora,” she smiled and then passed out again.

Mason scooped her up into his arms and I watched as he took her out of the club. I rubbed at my arms watching them depart. The man she’d come with was standing there looking scared. I spoke to him in Italian.

“To touch another woman, is a death sentence for you. Go home to your wife. To your family because if we ever find out who you truly are….it will end badly for you.”

His eyes had grown wide with every passing syllable. He looked near tears but I’d probably just saved his life. After all, Eve Barron had kidnapped Mr. DeLuca’s children and only a handful of people knew about that. There was no way in hell he was going to let the man who had probably gotten his little sister coked up go unscathed.

The doctor escorted me out to where the driver sat. “You should get her to a hospital immediately. The shot was not preventative medicine. It’s just what I had on hand.”

“I’ll do my best,” I nodded. “Thank you.”

Instead of getting into the back of the SUV, I hopped into the front. The driver seemed surprised, but I didn’t mind. Mason needed time with Gisella. I understood that. She had been his first everything and I wasn’t about to shatter that small piece of peace he was getting with my presence.

Looking in the back of the vehicle, I saw that Gisella was cradled in his arms. Her breathing seemed shallow, but it was there. He offered me just a slight smile and nod of his head. I turned sharply, putting on my seatbelt.

As we drove away from the Hellfire Club, part of me had wondered about that trance Mason had been in. Had something been triggered in him? Another chill went down my spine at the thought. Whatever it was, it had wanted to devour me in that club in front of everyone.

My pussy tingled.

The enigma that was Mason seemed to grow but I was going to enjoy getting out of Italy. Our mission was over, the princess had been saved and life could go back to normal.

In the early hours of the morning, Mr. DeLuca’s jet was fueled and ready had taken off. Gisella had been to busy puking herself half to death to put up much of a fight. That was fine by me, as I’d put my headphones in and avoided talking to Mason like the plague for hours.
