Went out for breakfast, I’ll be back soon.

The words seemed to go hazy on the note and I placed it down. Mason had a mirror above his dresser and I peeked at myself. I definitely needed to go see Rain and have her tighten up my weave. My hair had cowlicks going in every direction. I tightened the sheet around me and made an almost toga out of it.

“You need to get out of here,” I whispered aloud.

While talking to myself, I paced for just a second.

I’d never had a one night stand. I’d been in a relationship with one person, the same man that had taken my virginity and then that was it. College had ended and we’d gone our separate ways. He’d went back to Maine and I’d come back to Seattle. There hadn’t been any casual sex or casual lovers. Work was my boyfriend and bedmate.

Clearing my head, I was about to leave out of Mason’s bedroom when I spotted his closet. Our small conversation came back to me from last night.

“It’s good for having a torture chamber in the closet.”

Mason’s words looped through my head making dark scary figure eights. Part of me wanted to leave, but I was rooted to the spot. My eyes were trained on the closet, it was obscure, and the door only slightly ajar.

Nora, this is how bitches get got…My mind was warning me and I knew I should have listened but my feet were already carrying me across the door. Flipping on the light switch that was on the outside, one hand was on the door and I pulled it open.

I let loose a slight scream as I was attacked….

“Girl, it’s a scarf,” I laughed knowing I’d scared the shit out of myself for no good reason.

Picking up the light blue scarf, and placing it back on the hook, my eyes took in the size of the walk in closet.

Mason definitely was making money because it was the closet of dreams. All of his things were neatly arranged. He had Rolexes sitting in trays and there was even a ring I picked up to examine it had a stone so red it seemed to glow and give off some sort of heat. There was a Z decorating it as well.

Turning, ready to end my adventure, my eyes noticed the wooden floors.

Bending down I examined them.

“Scuff marks…” a voice said from behind me.

Whipping up into a standing position, I came face to face with Mason. He was dressed, and shaved and he looked utterly delicious. He looked utterly dangerous.

I was speechless and immediately knew that I shouldn’t be in this room. That I shouldn’t even be in this apartment.

You never should’ve fucked him, girl.

“I need to go,” I murmured. “Rain will be looking for me.”

He smirked. “Rain? Or do you mean Brie.”

Mason began to stalk in like a cat. There was no one to protect me and we both knew it.

“Both,” I swallowed.

Mason was on top of me now, staring down at me. The cedar scent filled my nostrils trying to override my fear. It wasn’t working. I had played a stupid game and I was about to win a stupid ass prize.

“Nora are you lying to us…”

I decided to take this chance to stare straight ahead. My palms felt sweaty and there seemed to be a heartbeat in my fingertips. There was no way I could fight Mason off. He was over six foot, and he was an assassin…

“Of course not,” I found the courage to speak from somewhere.

Who the fuck is us?

Mason leaned down and took a whiff. “I can smell lies, Darlin.”

Nope, I’m not dying in this psychopath’s closet,I thought.
