All I could do was stand in shock, all while still eyeing my purse.

“Nora…no.”

I raised an eyebrow still suspicious. “No what?”

He came back over then, his eyes still smiling and pecked at my lips. “We like you. We like watching you, Nora. You’re a messy eater by the way. Most of all, Darlin…we very much liked fucking you.”

Fire.

My face was full blown, undeniably on fire. Mason had me blushing from the tips of my feet to the ends of my nose.

“So…you’re not going to take me into that room and torture me?”

He shook his head, “No. Not unless you want me too.”

A shudder went down my spine and my stomach grumbled. “I’d rather you didn’t.”

Mason chuckled and headed over to the counter. I followed and watched as he undid the white bag and pulled out a carton of eggs, a package of bacon, bagels, and cream cheese.

“I was hoping to feed you…maybe fuck you again,” Mason didn’t even bother to look up.

This blush was never going to leave my face if he didn’t quit talking this way.

I said nothing and sat down on a bar stool, pulling out my cellphone. He got busy with cooking and I found myself starring at a text from my sister.

Did you get home okay?

I debated on whether to write back but with everything going on in the area figured it best to respond. Looking up I found Mason adding salt and pepper to the eggs. He had just admitted that he was a thing that went bump in the night and now he was cooking for me.

“Go and call your sister,” he demanded, never looking up.

“Huh?”

He stayed busy but repeated himself. I nodded and then started calling my sister, going into the tiny bathroom by the front door, the opposite of the murder closet. Taking a deep breath I waited as Rain answered.

“Bitch, did he blow ya back out?” Came my sister’s chipper voice.

“Why are you this way?” I looked at the phone and put it back to my ear.

She paused. “It was that good huh?”

I giggled. “We had fun.”

“Are you home yet?” There was chatter in the background, indicating that Rain was more than likely in her shop.

“No, not yet. He drove us to his place on his bike last night,” I said. “So, I’ll have to get a ride share.”

Rain started laughing. “Miss Goody Two Shoes and the Bad Boy with a bike. Rome really changed you. Which you didn’t finish telling me about.”

Staring in the bathroom mirror, I began fixing my hair realizing I still looked unkempt.

“I need to drop by the salon.”

“I can fit you in today, in about an hour…”

Checking the time on my phone, I knew my meeting with Brie wasn’t until much later. “Yes and I can give you all the details about Rome.”

“Sounds perfect. I just got new hair in too…baby, I ain’t wanna tell you but your weave was looking a little busted.”
