I snapped to attention and stalked forward pushing Nora up against the nearest wall. “Don’t you ever in your pretty little life, mention another man’s dick in my presence.”

Warmth,I thought.

Nora’s body felt so warm and I wanted to be inside of her. She had set off emotions in me by mentioning Sebastian and even though I knew she hadn’t meant it in that way, I wanted to punish her.

Too bad that wasn’t going to happen.

“Get the fuck off of me. Stop being an asshole. Either tell me why you punched that old man, or don’t bother coming back to my place tonight.”

I stared down at her. Her cute little mouth should have been gagging on my dick by now. Finally, before I did something I’d regret, I stepped away. I didn’t want to drag Nora into my family shit. She really didn’t need all of this on her plate.

“That man I punched,” I turned my back to her, taking a breath.

Nora waited.

She could be patient.

“Thatmanwas my father.”

She gave a laugh and I turned back to her, the amusement all over her face. “Okay and that warranted making him bleed his own blood?”

I frowned.

“Sorry, Dodgeball reference and not the time. But still. He’s gotta be seventy years old, Mason.”

I threw up my hands in outrage. “Well, he’s fucking my ex-girlfriend and got her pregnant.”

A look crossed Nora’s face and she stepped back. “So, it wasn’t nothing…”

“Nora, stop. It’s not like that,” I tried to reach for her.

“I think you should leave the party, clearly the only threat to anyone’s safety tonight is you. Go back to my apartment, get your things and don’t be there when I get home.”

We watched her go and the Corsican whimpered. I told him to shut up and man up.

I was going to do exactly what Nora asked.

“Enough,” I whispered walking away and heading to my car.

ChapterTwenty-One

Nora

For once, I was out of work on time. The sun had been setting when I’d started to climb the steps to my apartment. I had plans of having fun because the last week had been an emotional roller coaster. After Mason had killed the vibe at Sebastian and Brie’s engagement party by punching his elderly father, I’d basically kicked him out of my life.

I hadn’t heard from him.

I’d wanted to text him but I knew better.

Plus, he was probably still pissed that Gisella was fucking his father and that was just too much. Of course I’d felt some type of way. He clearly still had feelings for her. Afterall, she’d been his first love.

His only love…

I remembered them from high school. My first year in a new school due to getting an academic scholarship atWindsor Preparatory Academyand I’d gotten a front row seat on my first day of Gisella and Mason making out against my locker.

He didn’t even remember me, which also kind of stung.

Turning this way and that in the floor length bedroom mirror, I found myself staring at my reflection.
