A shiver let loose up my spine and I got goosebumps at his words.

“I’m going back into the party,” I told him.

He shook his head. “You’re not,Darlin. You’re going to be coming with me. But before you do…you’re going to call you boyfriend.”

I wanted to scream but it was halted in my throat. “What?”

“You heard me,” he sneered. “Now take out your phone. Call Mason. And put it on speaker phone.”

“No,” I told him.

Out of nowhere lightning filled my face. Lights flashed behind my eyes from his hands. Tobias had struck me and I let loose a yelp but he still had a hold on me.

“Call him you stupid bitch, stop trying to be brave. I’m going to snap your neck before this is over but not before Mason knows.”

Finding my phone, I pulled it forward and called Mason, praying he’d pick up. It rang and rang and rang.

Eternity seemed to pass and I found myself praying out loud to any God that was listening.

Finally he did answer.

“Nora…” Mason’s gravelly sounding voice hit my ears.

He’d probably been drinking.

“Mason…”

Tobias snatched the phone. “Hello, Mason.”

Mason’s voice was on alert. “Who is this?”

A low chuckle emanated from Tobias, low and insidious. “Sergeant, don’t go playing stupid games.”

Mason was growling on the other end and I knew that it wasHim. Mason’s Corsican didn’t like what he was hearing and honestly neither did I.

Pain was starting to course through my arm because Tobias had a fucking vice grip on it.

“If you fucking hurt her,” Mason breathed into the phone.

Tobias laughed. “You’ll what?”

“Tobias, I’m not the one to fuck with…”

“She’s a pretty little thing, Mason. All the ways I’m going to enjoy eating her pussy, tearing her from stalk to stem….”

“I’m coming for you motherfucker,” Mason screamed. “Nora, I’ll find you.”

“Ma-Mason!” I hollered.

“I’ll find you first,” Tobias seethed. “I’ve had enough of you fucking Zaccharas. Not even that monster inside of you will be enough..”

“What, what did you say?” Mason was still screaming on the other end of the phone. My face was still stinging from the slap. Tears were sliding down my face.

Tobias threw my phone against the wall and my hopes shattered along with the phone’s glass screen.

“Move it, bitch!” He smirked, dragging me.

We were already moving down the hallway. It was empty and the heels I had on were clicking into the marble floors. Surely, someone was going to leave the party.
