“M-mm hi,” I grinned back. “Tobias right?”

He nodded. “I wound up getting that job, I saw you and thought I might come say hello.”

There was no way I was going to feel gloomy half the night. Taking a chance I pulled Tobias in close. He smelled good, not like Mason but just good enough that I could pretend to laugh at his stupid joke if he said something.

“Dance with me,” I said and placing his hands on my waist.

Tobias obeyed and for a few moments we bopped around, two stepping and then the music changed to something slower. We swayed and I turned around putting my back against his front.

He didn’t move too much.

I did all the dancing and moving. It was definitely enough to get an erection out of him, and he wasn’t shy either because he pressed into my lower back.

Fuck it,I thought and took him by the hand before leading him away and into the hallway.

There was no protest and soon we were through the double doors and away from the crowds. The hallway was quiet and empty, we were alone. The cleaning crew must have been working overtime; hints of bleach and oranges seemed to coat the walls before seeping into the floors of DeLuca Tech.

Quiet settled over us.

Breathing heavily, I leaned against the wall. “Are you single?”

He chuckled coming in close, knowing it was a semi-invitation. Tobias was easy on the eyes, that much I could admit.

“I am… Darlin,” he smiled down on me.

A knife seemed to twist in my gut at the endearment.

Nobody can say Darlin, like Mason, I thought. The cat woman suit was starting to feel especially suffocating. Maybe it’d been a bad choice because it was defiantly sticking to my body.

“I wouldn’t have thought you were though?” Toby had braced his arms over my head, the heat from his body intense.

I wanted some water now and I wondered briefly if my sister had realized that I’d gone missing at this point in time.

Tobias ran his free hand up my stomach and cupped my breast.

My palms felt sweaty now, an anxious feeling coming over.

“I-I wasn’t…kind of...”

“Oh,” he was massaging me right breast roughly. “You feel so soft, Nora.”

“You never told me what division you wound up in,” I smiled up at him before brushing his hand away.

My senses were tingling now, the urge to find Rain and return to safety were overwhelming. A tightness had coiled itself around my spine as Tobias’ hand had come back to my breast.

“I didn’t say, did I?” His voice seemed far away but his hand was starting to grip me and it hurt.

“Stop!” I cried out pushing him away finally.

He stumbled back and I went to try and move away from him, but he grabbed ahold of me by my upper arm.

“Get back here bitch?” I now found myself facing a new version of Tobias.

In an instant his face seemed to have morphed. He was exuding a miasma and his eyes had gone entirely too dark.

“You need to let go of me,” I said stiffly.

He laughed. “Or what? You were the one who decided to come and play stupid games in the dark, Nora. For someone who never makes bad decisions…”
