She pulled herself out of her chair and walked to him. She picked him up, holding him close to herself. She inhaled his scent, smiling.

“Who’s my handsome little cowboy?” she cooed, looking at her mate.

Dad wore a matching outfit and a smile on his face. He reached out and pinched Junior’s cheeks. The toddler giggled. She smiled, loving how her life had changed. If she had known this was her future, she would have come to Nova Aurora sooner.

They all stepped off the porch and walked toward the fenceline to do the last look over the ranch before they had dinner. She looked at the cattle, smiling at how healthy they had gotten.

Deimos had decided to extend the ranch again. He bought more land, and they were talking about opening a clinic on the other side for her to run.

She had the blueprints sitting in the bedroom. She and Deimos were going to look over them once more before they began construction. Once it started, they were going to be even busier than they were now.

She placed the boy down, allowing him to wobble off into the grass. He grabbed the fence and pointed out at the cows. “Mooo,” he squealed.

Deimos chuckled. “Moo is right, buddy. That’s what cows sound like.”

Deimos opened the gate, allowing Junior to walk through. And like lightning, she watched a little fluff run forward.

Deimos squealed and rushed forward after it. It was the sarva they had rescued. Once the sarva had healed up, they ended up naming it Zoomy. She’d never seen such a fast critter before.

The child loved him and always raced after him. He was actually the reason why Junior was walking as early as he was. At first, the baby crawled after him and soon learned he was faster on his feet.

“Hope,” Deimos spoke up, snapping her attention. “You coming?”

She nodded, stepping through the gate. She grabbed the handle, pulling to lock it. Her eyes caught on her ring that shined in the light. It was a simple-cut diamond, but it meant the world to her. She moved her hand, watching it sparkle. It reminded her that Deimos loved her.

“Let’s feed the cattle and head in to start dinner,” her husband said, and she nodded, looking back at the ranch. She loved the home she had settled in. It felt right to be on the ranch, and it seemed she wasn’t the only one who thought so. Their son giggled through their meal, and the sarva bounced around happily.

They ate meatloaf and gave Junior a bath, where he splashed half of the water all over the floor. She couldn’t help but laugh.

After finally settling him into bed, they started on the dishes and cleaned up the living room. Toys were scattered everywhere, from stuffed cows to small balls.

“I talked to Tiff about when we could start up the clinic. She said we could even add to it for other rescue animals,” Deimos said, glancing at Zoomy.

“Would that cost more? Is that something we have in our budget?” Money wasn’t really an issue for them, but she also knew she wanted to set aside money.

She wanted her kids to be able to do whatever they wanted, and traveling to Earth wasn’t cheap. So, she didn’t want them to blow a bunch on a clinic, considering they had already bought a clinic in the cities where she worked.

“A little, but it would be worth it.”

She smiled at the idea. She threw her arms over his shoulders and kissed him.

Deimos leaned into it, pulling her closer into his arms. She felt safe and sighed against him. He hoisted her up, setting her against the counter.

The atmosphere changed. She couldn’t remember when they last had time to just be with each other. Their lives had been crazy.

He deepened the kiss, biting her lower lip. She moaned, digging her nails into his shoulders. Even after all this time, their love for each other continued to grow.

He undid her blouse, and she pulled his shirt off. She ran her hands over his skin, feeling how warm he was. She could feel his muscles, and it made her insides stir.

His hands spread across her stomach and down her hips. Sparkles rolled over her body as he traveled down. She felt hot all over and was soaking her pants.

“You know,” Deimos chuckled in her ear, “speaking of extending things. Wouldn’t it be nice to have another little cowboy running around here? Someone who could entertain him when we want some alone time.”

She liked where he was taking the conversation. She smiled at him, undoing his pants. “Or a cowgirl?”

He nodded, giving her a wicked grin. She was all for the idea. Honestly, she loved the idea of having more kids. She wanted a bunch of kids.

He pulled her off the counter and carried her down the hallway. They were sure to be quiet as they walked past the toddler’s room. Once in their room, she laughed as he tossed her onto the bed.
