She’s so fucking light and small but can pack quite a punch. With her tucked safely in my arms, I move out of the basement and up the stairs towards one of the vehicles.

“How did you find me?” she asks.

“I put a tracker on your phone. Good thing you had it with you,” I tell her. She smiles, not even upset about the invasion of her privacy. She’s happy she’s mine.

Carefully placing her inside the car, I instruct Marco to get her home and stay with her until I get there.

Peter the idiot is getting dragged out limply from the basement and tossed into a trunk. It’s my turn to have fun with him. As long as Gina is safe, taking care of him will be more about pleasure than anything else.

When we arrive at our destination, his body is yanked from the trunk and taken where nobody will ever be able to hear his screams.

He’s strapped to the table and realizing what’s happening, he starts to beg, promising that he’ll never touch her again. I don’t care. He’s never going to touchanywoman ever again. Once I take care of this little issue, enjoying the hell out of the process, I’m going to head to the house and look after Gina.

“Any last words?” I punch him hard again even though his face is trapped in a vise and there’s blood trickling down his cheeks. His left eye is swollen shut. Gina can never know about the fact that I enjoy this side of my job. Causing pain is something she will never have to experience in her lifetime ever again.

He can’t even talk, his pleading arguments coming out like mush from a mouth full of broken teeth and split lips. The guy had no idea whose girl he was messing with.

My most recent memory of this table is having her sexy little ass bent over it while I claimed her other virgin hole, and so I don’t want to lose that memory. Instead of torturing this fucking idiot even more, I glance at Jimmy and nod. He’s used to cleaning things up after I’m done.

I grab yet another of Peter’s fingers, snapping it like a twig. The loser screams again, blubbering promises that wouldn’t be fulfilled even if I did give him another lease on life.

Needing to push away the violent man inside my head, I need to wrap this up so I can get the hell outta here and back to where I should be…at my woman’s side, so I can take care of her. Forever.

“Clean this mess up.” I glance at Jimmy. He nods quickly, knowing exactly what I mean. The guy will vanish without a trace, and nobody is going to care that he’s gone anyway.

Jumping into my car, I ignore the traffic lights, making the drive back home a quick one. I have to get back to Gina and tend to her.

When I arrive Marco is outside the house as requested, keeping an eye on things. I nod to him as I go inside. My father, Gina’s mother, and a doctor are already in Gina’s room.

My father has always been privy to my activities, but involving his new stepdaughter probably wasn’t on the agenda. It certainly wasn’t on mine.

He’s pissed, I can tell. Grabbing my arm roughly, he yanks me out of the bedroom…the only man alive who could manhandle me that way and live.

“What the hell happened?” my father asks me, his expression pinched as he stabs his hands into the sides of his hips and cocks his head.

“It’s been taken care of,” I say flatly. “He won’t bother her again.” Our eyes have always spoken volumes to each other, and I know that he understands what I’m talking about.

Seeing Gina in bed with a swollen lip and bruises just makes me seethe, and I want to kill that motherfucker all over again. The rage courses through me…at least until her eyes open and she reaches out for me. I grab her hand and squeeze it. All I want to do is kiss her, but that isn’t something I want to reveal to our parents just yet.

Although, I’m sure they will definitely find out soon enough.

“Gio. Are you okay?”

I have to laugh. She’s the one lying in bed after everything that’s happened, but she’s more concerned about me. I sit down next to her and stroke her cheek. “Just rest, littlebambina. You’ll never have to worry again.”

And I mean it. After what happened to her, it showed me that I can’t possibly live without her. It means there is only one outcome for us…a ring on her finger and a baby in her belly, but that will have to wait until she’s better. Right now, she needs to rest and recover.

Jimmy can take care of most of the things we need done. I’m going to devote all my time to getting her better and making sure she knows that nobody will ever touch her like that again.

Chapter Seventeen

Gina

“You’ll never have to worry again.” The words ring in my ears over and over like a record on repeat. I have no idea what happened to Peter after I was taken away from him, but I do know that Gio handled it, point blank. I’m still jumping at shadows a bit, especially after I get home. Gio’s father has a knowing look, seeming to be acutely aware of exactly what happened somehow, and my mother is as comforting as she can possibly be. She’s fussing over me, and yes, I like it.

Even though what I’m assuming he did to Peter was brutal and final, it makes me realize that he wants to keepmesafe. When Gio finally gets home, the first thing he does is come to my room and check on me. “Are you okay?”

Sitting by my bed, he brushes my hair away from my face and checks my bandaged hand. “This might take a couple of weeks to heal.” Lifting my hand to his mouth, he kisses it tenderly. Even though I’m sore and my hand is still hurting, it feels better when he touches me. “I’ll stick around and make sure you have everything you need.”
