“I wouldn’t have it any other way. Annnnd…it goes both ways. You’re mine, Gio. Always.”

“Damn right I am, beautiful. You’re absolutely right.”

And with that he slides inside me. It feels so much better than the first time he took me, claimed me for all of eternity.

His eyes darken with desire, but I also see tenderness as he mouths to me that he loves me. His thrusts become faster and deeper as his mouth finds my neck, sucking and nibbling.

It doesn’t take long before my body starts to shake, and at the same time, I feel the warmth of his release inside me.

He rolls to the side, and I slide up next to him. He wraps one arm around me, and I snuggle closer. We cling to each other as if we never want to let each other go, which we don’t. Ever.

After the tender act, I don’t want him to leave my bed, and he seems to sense it too, to feel it as well, as we curl up next to each other.

When I see the door open and my mother peek in, silently observing the snoring massive man next to me, she just closes the door with a smile. There’s no need to hide anything anymore.

A few days later,we’re walking in the garden out back. It’s slightly chilly, and Gio has his jacket around me. He leads me out to the front of the house, and I’m wondering if we’re about to take a drive, but instead he surprises me when we stop in front of the house.

“This is the exact place where I first laid eyes on you, where I instantly fell in love with you. I know with absolute certainty that not only will I never want to ever be with another woman again, but more importantly I couldn’t even if I wanted to, because there is no one else for me but you. You and only you. You’re it, the one and only. Forever. I know it and I hope you know it too. And now, right here where we first met, it’s time the whole world to know that...”

He drops to one knee mid-sentence, and my heart leaps into my throat as he pulls out a small, black velvet box and pops the top open. “I need you to be my wife forever.Bambina, mybambina…will you marry me.”

The massive ring almost blinds me, the light reflecting off it the moment it’s revealed, my body engulfed in goosebumps as chills and then heat run up my spine. This perfect man wants me to be his wife and be with him forever, and there’s no question in my mind that the answer is yes. With tears welling in my eyes, I nod.

“Say it. I need to hear you say it.”

“Yes, Gio. I accept. I’m yours now and forever. Always have been even when I didn’t know it, know you…and now I always will belong to you.”

When he slips the ring on my finger I look over his shoulder toward the front door where our parents, his entire crew, and even some of my friends are standing. They’re smiling tearfully and raising glasses of champagne towards us. I respond by showing off my round brilliant-cut diamond ring.

Both Gioand I agree that there’s no point in waiting too long, so after the engagement we set out to plan our marriage ceremony.

Our wedding is the most incredible and memorable night of my life. It’s small but intimate. There are only a few dozen guests, but everything about it—from my stunning gown to the lovely decorations—makes me feel like a princess, which Gio constantly reminds me that I am.

It goes without saying that our wedding night is just as unforgettable.

It’s almost funny how he carefully strips off my bridal gown as if he’s unwrapping a present he’s going to keep in a museum in one of those transparent, impenetrable cases for all of eternity, knowing he’s already torn most of my clothes and underwear.

We stay up all night, making love for hours and talking about anything and everything in between.

As we drift off to sleep, I know that it won’t be long before we start our own family, and I can’t wait to be the mother to his child as well as his devoted wife.

Waking up next to him every morning is a dream come true, and soon, I start to notice changes in my body. It makes me smile, knowing that our family of two is growing already.

I couldn’t ask for a better life, and the future only means more of his passionate love and the secure feeling of having such an incredible man by my side.

Epilogue

Gio

It's not as big a mansion as my father’s place, but it’s home. And every day, after the office closes, I can’t wait to get back there. Walking through the door, I’m always greeted by the most wonderful sounds in the world…my young children running and flying into my arms. They’re growing up so fast I want time to stand still, even if just for a moment.

Once we revealed everything to our families, there was a bit of an adjustment for everyone, but she hasn’t left my sight for more than about a day since then. Even if I need to travel for business, we go together on a private jet. After all, it’s good for the kids to see different parts of the world, and she’s the best, most devoted mothers any husband in the history of fatherhood could ask for.

I made the decision soon after we got married to legitimize the business and delegate some tasks to reliable people like Jimmy. I still get a taste of it every now and then, and that has continued for years. It also means that I help him out if he ever needs it, and often, the threat of the Terror of Tuscany coming back into the fray is enough to make the cockroaches scatter whenever he needs it.
