The rest of us remained outside while Doc and Zip got Joni inside and upstairs.

“This is really exciting,” Brielle said.

“Very exciting,” Jazz agreed. “I’m kind of hungry. And wedidcater this thing.”

“Thank God,” Mia said. “I’m starving.”

“Doc won’t care if we eat, will she?” Jazz asked.

“I think she’d be offended if we didn’t,” Savage said.

Jazz looked at him. “I’m going to choose to believe you.”

Darcy hung up the phone. “The ambulance is on its way.”

“I don’t think they’ll make it in time,” Colt said, his expression filled with concern.

“It’ll be fine,” Mia said, squeezing her husband’s hand. “She’s got Doc.”

Colt blew out a breath of air. “Yeah, okay.”

“Found it!” Lily screamed from the other side of the property.

“As far as weddings go, I’m pretty sure this is the craziest one I’ve been to,” I said, rising from my chair.

“Ha.” Jazz snorted.

Brielle giggled.

“What?” I demanded. “What’s that about?”

“We catered a wedding a few weeks ago,” Brielle explained. “The bride walked in on the groom having sex.”

“With a bridesmaid? How cliche,” I said.

“No. With his future mother-in-law,” Jazz said.

“Oh my God. No way,” I said.

“Yeah.” Brielle nodded. “Oh man, the yelling and the screaming—”

“And the crystal smashing,” Jazz added.

“Well, let’s start on the food,” Mia said. “And we’ll wait to toast until we have ourselves a new baby Blue Angel.”

Twenty minutes later, Zip ran out of the house, his face full of elation. “We’ve got a baby boy!”

Cheers resounded throughout the back yard.

Colt slapped Zip on the back and offered his congratulations.

“How’s Joni?” Mia asked.

“Perfect. A fucking champ. How she did that without drugs, I’ll never know.” Zip beamed.

“Well, Dad,” Darcy quipped. “We got a name yet?”

Zip looked at Colt when he said, “Everett James. Everett because Joni likes the name. James after you.”
