“Hey, Lily Burger! Come here a second,” Boxer called out.

Lily ran over to us and hastily brushed her blonde curls and a cookie crumb from her face.

“What are you doing two weeks from Friday?” Doc asked.

“Dunno. Why?”

Boxer looked down at her and smiled. “You want to be my best Lily Burger? I’m marrying your Aunt Doc, and I need someone to stand next to me and hold the wedding rings.”

“Really? You mean it?” The little girl’s grin was so wide it nearly split her face.

“I mean it,” Boxer said.

“Can I wear pink?”

“Yep.”

“Can I wear purple?”

“Yep.”

“Can I wear black like Waverly wears black?”

Boxer grinned. “You can wear whatever color you want, Lily Burger.”

“Yay! Cam! Guess what! I get to be a Lily Burger and hold rings!” She ran off to talk to her brother, but her statement pulled the attention of all the Blue Angels.

“Hold rings?” Zip frowned. “What’s she talking about?”

“I finally convinced Boxer to set a wedding date,” Doc joked to the Blue Angels VP.

Zip sniggered.

“He’s been really hard to pin down, right?” Brooklyn teased.

“She pinned me last night,” Boxer stated.

Doc elbowed him in the ribs, causing him to wince and then chuckle. “Consider this our engagement party.”

“You can’t call this your engagement party,” Joni protested. “There aren’t any adorable decorations.”

“There’s no fruity drinks in champagne flutes,” Mia added.

“I didn’t bake anything for you!” Brooklyn panicked.

Doc touched her shoulder. “I really didn’t want to make a fuss, okay? Which is why we’re doing it this way.”

“Well, can I at least make your wedding cake?” Brooklyn sniffed.

“Absolutely.” Doc smiled.

“This calls for moonshine,” Savage said, setting a glass liquor bottle full of clear liquid down on the patio coffee table.

“What about for the rest of us who can’t drink?” Allison asked.

“I’ll get you a soda,” Torque said.

“Thanks.” She stared up at her husband and the heat between them scorched the air.
