“A friend of Dina’s.”

“Bullshit, you’re her dealer. What the fuck do you want?” Jett cut in.

“Yeah, okay, I’m her dealer. Hello everyone! Thank you for attending today. As for what I wanted with you, I didn’t want you. I wanted the brat. Dina promised me extra if I grabbed you as well. So here we all are,” he said, scrutinising me.

“See, I owe Diego money. Not a teeny amount but a big bit,” Dina said, staring at me through blurred eyes. “What does he see in you? You got nothing compared to me.” Dina leant forward and ripped my blouse open. I heard Jett suck in a breath as Diego suddenly found me more attractive.

“Sin ain’t a drugged-out ho,” Jett bit out.

Dina screeched and slapped me before staggering over to Jett and straddling him. Bile rushed into my mouth as Dina began dry humping my husband. Jett’s eyes held mine with that burning fury.

“Why ain’t you getting hard, baby?” Dina slurred. Dina tried to kiss Jett, and he spat in her face. She yelled and slapped Jett across his face this time.

“Hard? How the hell can you make anyone hard? You’re disgusting, a whore, tramp, scum,” Jett spat blood at her. Dina screeched again and jammed herself harder into his lap. I couldn’t help it and turned my head as I vomited. Diego made a sound of disgust and dragged me away from it. He held a water bottle to my mouth and then forced me to eat a mint. Was he joking? Asshole was worried about my breath?

“Jett won’t get hard. Come on, baby, you enjoy fucking my cunt.”

“Yeah, well, I got some fuckin’ taste finally and chose a classy one. Instead of your well-used up cunt,” Jett snarled at her.

Dina rose to her feet and screamed in his face. Screw this, I decided.

“Where’s my daughter?” I yelled.

“My baby? Ursula’s safe and sound and needs to stay that way,” Dina muttered. “I owed Diego a lot of dough. Ursula will fetch that money.” Dina wandered out of the room.

My fear-filled eyes met Jett’s just as it all turned dark again.

Chapter Ten.

Hawthorne

“Boss, we have intel on Amelia; you need to get to the office asap,” Leila Gibson said to Hawthorne.

“What ya got?”

“Nigel and I found something. Rage will go fucking apeshit. If I tell you over the phone, I’m unsure a hospital is the best place for Drake to learn this. Davies sent Niko, Max, and two Rage prospects back.”

Hawthorne glanced over at the pacing Rage President. It had been four hours. Two hundred and forty long minutes since the discovery of Jett’s missing family. Rage hit the streets, but there was nothing, no clue or lead. Artemis had assigned her hacker Nigel to Hawthorne’s offices to support Leila. Looked like they finally had a start.

“Leila and Nigel got info; need to head to my office,” Dylan told Ramirez. “Blue’s and twos will help.”

“On it.” Ramirez moved out to bring his car to the front.

Hawthorne approached the slow, simmering bomb that was Drake.

“Leila and Nigel found intel on Amelia. We have to leave.”

Drake gazed toward the doors which led to Gunner and glanced at the exit. Shit.

“Davies has sent Niko and Max and corralled two of your prospects to get their asses back here. Ordered Jase and Hernando to provide backup here, Drake. Gunner will be protected, and the prospects will stay for Gunner. Gunner wouldn’t forgive you if you could have saved Jett’s family and didn’t act,” Hawthorne said. As the words left his mouth, Blaze and Hunter walked in, followed by Apache.

“Go, I’ll wait. Bring Jett and girls back alive, hear me?” Apache stated, clasping Drake’s arm. Drake nodded and took off after Ramirez and Hawthorne.

Drake

“What you got?” Hawthorne asked, pushing into the crowded conference room at his offices. It was full of Rage and his own men. Ramirez had kept the siren lit all the way to Hawthorne’s Investigations, and Drake had followed on his bike.

“We couldn’t find anything. Then we checked the dark web and discovered this.” Leila frowned and switched the screen on. Drake drew in a horrified breath as he stared at the picture on the laptop. It was Amelia. The little girl sat staring at a camera, eyes wide and fearful. Amelia wore a new dress that he recognised Phoe had bought, and she clutched her pink teddy.
