The judge handed us the wedding certificate, and we couldn’t stop smiling, which made him smile.

“You’re my husband!” Aurora crowed.

The judge chuckled.

“And you’re my wife!” I said, staring at the vision of beauty in front of me. Aurora wore a white off-the-shoulder gypsy top with a lace shawl covering her shoulders and a long white flowing skirt to her ankles. She grinned as she lifted the skirt and showed me her motorcycle boots.

“I adore seeing young people in love,” the judge commented. He out and out laughed this time as he waved us away and, holding hands with Calamity, Fanatic and Rosie behind us, we skedaddled. Casey hadn’t made it, Blue was sick, or so she said.

“Good luck to you both, but you won’t need it. I recognise true love when I see it!” the judge called, and I beamed and sent the dude a wide grin.

We laughed joyfully as we ran across the road to the bikes. I was overflowing with happiness and euphoria. Aurora’s devotion was my drug, and I was well and truly addicted. Her own love was reflected on her face. And I revelled in that. Christ, I’d never known unconditional love before, and this was the biggest gift Aurora could ever give me.

Aurora was glowing as she leapt on the back of my Harley and tucked her skirts around us. The others fell into position behind, and as I rode away, I began laughing. Calamity and Fanatic had tied Just Married cans to drag behind my bike. As we drove down the street, I missed seeing Axel and Drake coming out of a shop and staring after us. If I had noticed, I would have seen pain etched across their faces at the whoops we were releasing on the high of the moment.

We rode to Bernard’s, at Calamity’s urging, and parked the bikes behind the restaurant. As we entered, Aurora and I were taken aback by the roar of congratulations that sounded. Standing right in front was Phoe, hopping on the spot in glee. Beside her was Vivie, shrieking in joy. Casey stood by them grinning all over her face.

“As soon as Calamity texted me, we organised this! You didn’t think we would let my alternative go without a celebration!” Vivie shrieked, waddling towards me with her baby bump. She flung her arms around me and kissed me before repeating her actions with Aurora.

“Je vous aime tous les deux!” Vivie exclaimed.

“We love you too, baby girl,” I replied, hugging her.

“Of course, I am loveable!” Vivie said with good humour.

“Congrats!” Phoe shrieked, throwing herself at me, and I caught her before she knocked us over. She hugged me tightly and then reached out and grabbed Aurora.

“You look stunning, so beautiful and happy!” Phoe was rocking Aurora in happiness while Aurora looked bemused.

“Did you think I would let you get married without celebrating?” Casey demanded hugging Aurora tightly.

“Blue’s not sick?” Aurora asked.

“No, I needed time to do this!” Casey replied grinning.

I finally glanced around the room and noticed all the exiles present with their ladies. Fanatic was standing, grinning with Jodie, who I realised was home for a break. Behind them were all the old ladies of Rage and their kids. Dylan Hawthorne was there with all the Hawthorne women, and I sent them a wary glance. Marissa chuckled as she saw. Ramirez, Ben, and our friends from RCPD approached, offering congratulations. I spied members of the Juno Group, including Akemi and Master Hoshi and Delta Force, as we called them.

The restaurant was filled with so many people, Aurora and I were utterly overwhelmed. Even directors from the Trusts were present. We could both feel the outpouring of love from everyone surrounding us. The tables had been pushed aside, and the middle of the restaurant had been opened for everybody to mill around and talk. Although it was midday, Bernard turned the music on, and couples danced.

“The bride and groom!” Bernard shouted as he approached, grabbed our hands, and raised them high. Cheers echoed as we grinned.

“The first dance!” Bernard yelled, and the floor cleared as I led Aurora onto it. Aurora was blushing and giggling madly as I took her in my arms. The sounds of my all-time favourite song came on, and I hooted in happiness. Together we danced to Tim McGraw’s Meanwhile, Back at Mama’s. The song told the story of a guy who longed to escape the rat race and find a simpler life on a ranch.

Tim McGraw could have been singing about me. Because I’d not known how depressed I had been at college and how fucking miserable I’d been until I escaped. I had been longing for a decent existence, and for a while, Rage MC had fulfilled that. Black and white, simple as fuck. But now I realised I was not black and white, I needed grey in my life, and the future I was building with Aurora provided that. We’d live easily and freely and take stock of the things that mattered to us. That wasn’t wealth or rich trappings. It was being surrounded by friends and family and giving and receiving love.

Calamity and Fanatic were my real brothers, closer than blood. And Jett, Blaze, Savage, and everyone remained another brother. This was what counted, not the latest car or the biggest house, but love, loyalty, and respect. Pity burned in my stomach for my supposed family as I stared into my wife's beautiful eyes.

Fuck! My wife! A grin broke out on my face. They’d never know this level of happiness and contentment, nor the feeling of knowing how loved and accepted you are.

My dad worshipped none of us. We were status symbols, something he could trot out and brag about. I don’t remember him laughing freely or watching a movie with us. No, I wasn’t abused by a long shot, but hell, the nannies cared for us more than our parents. My children wouldn’t ever feel that way. They’d know they were wanted, adored and loved. And Aurora would make a remarkable mother.

“How many kids do you want?” I asked Aurora as I dipped her low and lifted her back up. Aurora’s body pressed against mine as her eyes widened.

“Five or six. I want youngsters running everywhere,” she whispered.

“Start on that tonight?” I murmured, and Aurora blushed before nodding her head shyly.
