“What the hell is going on?” Klutz bellowed from upstairs, and a thud of footsteps echoed as he appeared in his boxers.

“Desmond,” Klutz said with intense dislike.

“Brother.”

“I’ve just woken up and not had breakfast or coffee. So, politely fuck off because I am not coming back,” Klutz growled.

“That is between you and Dad. I’m here for Jemma and the kids. Where are they?” Desmond demanded.

Klutz wore a blank look as he swapped glances between Desmond and me.

“Who is Jemma?” Klutz finally asked, scratching his head.

“Do not play games. Jacon, I want to know where Jemma and the children are and if they’re safe,” Desmond said forcefully.

“Don’t know who Jemma is,” Klutz replied, stepping up into Desmond’s face. Klutz’s muscles bunched, and I recognised he was getting angry. But a shaft of pain ran through me when I realised Desmond really didn’t give a shit about Klutz. The asshole was here for someone else. I wanted to smack Desmond silly. Couldn’t the twat see how wonderful his brother was?

“Daryl’s wife and children! Daryl arrived home, and they were gone. Jemma left a note saying she wants a divorce because he’s as cold and calculating as father. You’ve had contact with Jemma because this… woman… told Daryl his wife was leaving him!” Desmond accused, and I began laughing.

“Seems my vision came true, Klutz. And they’re blaming you, thinking you’ve talked with this Jemma. Well, we haven’t, and I’ll tell you something. On the drive to the airport, be careful of a yellow sign. And start looking to fix your own marriage. Your wife is a fiery, warm-blooded woman and is quickly tired of being married to a cold-blooded reptile. And she also knows about your little fling. Now go away!” I snapped and tried to shut the door. Desmond’s hand shot out, and he didn’t look so confident.

“How do you know this? Why are you in contact with our spouses and not us?” Desmond accused Klutz.

“Because Aurora is the real deal. She is physic, and it looks like, brother, you’ve been caught with your pants down!” Klutz chortled, knocked Desmond’s hand away, and slammed the door shut.

Klutz dropped a kiss on my lips and disappeared upstairs. He reappeared minutes later, dressed in low-hanging jeans and barefoot. Water pooled in my mouth; he was delectable. All those tight muscles and ink on display.

“That was a shock; gotta wonder who’s next,” Klutz said as I nodded dumbly in agreement. He stared and appeared to want to speak but was hesitant.

“Aurora Victoria, I know we’ve been taking things slow. But I also appreciate I’m old-fashioned. The first time I am inside your body, I want you to have my surname. Even though it ain’t worth much. Will you marry me?”

My jaw dropped in stunned shock, and a wheeze left my lungs as Klutz brought out a box and showed me a beautiful diamond and sapphire cluster ring.

Klutz

Aurora kept staring, her mouth open and working but not forming a sentence. I think I’d shocked her speechless as I held out the ring and felt awkward.

I began moving my hand back when she screeched, “No! Mine!”

Amusement rumbled through me.

“Is that a yes?” I asked.

“Yes! Hell yeah! Yes, yes!” Aurora babbled, and I laughed and moved towards her.

Our bodies collided, and I pulled the ring from the box and slid it on. It fit perfectly, and I sighed in relief. When she’d been asleep, I’d tied a piece of string around her finger to get her size.

“We could hit Vegas or the courthouse,” I said and yanked some paperwork from my back pocket.

“We can get married today? Then let’s do it. Grab Calamity and Fanatic with Rosie and Casey!” Aurora exclaimed.

“You don’t want a big wedding?” I offered. I didn’t think Aurora would, but I’d better make sure.

“Hell no. Let’s get hitched!” Aurora shrieked. Aurora darted away from me and down the hallway.

“Babe, where are you off to?” I yelled.

“To get ready!” Aurora called back, happiness swamping her voice. My chest tightened. I had so much love for her I thought I would burst. I yanked my phone out of my pocket and sent a text, and with a wicked grin, raced after Aurora to smarten myself up some.
