Jocelyn Wagner was all legs and silky hair, like a supermodel from the eighties. Skinny and fashionable. She was dressed flawlessly in every photo I found of her, like she had a dedicated wardrobe assistant. And she had the large, perky breasts that always looked amazing in her clothes, even when she wasn’t showing any cleavage.

To be blunt: she was hotter than me.

And Owen left his meeting with her to come fool around with me.

The thought left me feeling thrilled and excited all over again. As I closed the internet search and tabbed over to my coding program, I tried to push the sexy CEO out of my head. But he remained in my thoughts as if someone had drawn him inside my skull with a permanent marker.

I still felt vaguely guilty about the situation. I was fooling around with two men from the same company. Two billionaires who happened to be my bosses. What kind of girl was I?

But Jude was emphatic that things werecasualbetween us. And our relationship, physical or otherwise, had only been going on for a few days. Just under a week, in fact. I liked him a lot, but it was far from serious.

Did that make things okay?

I formed a list in my head:

Reasons to Tell Jude:

1. It’s the right thing to do.

2. He and Owen are friends.

3. I would rather he hear it from me than Owen.

Reasons Not to Tell Jude:

1. It might hurt him.

2. I wanted to keep fooling around with Jude.

3. I also wanted to see where things went with Owen.

The last item gave me pause.Werethings going somewhere with Owen? Last night in the closet I asked him for more, and he turned me down.

What kind of guy turned down sex like that? Especially after going down on a girl?

The answer was cruel and taunting:The kind of guy who doesn’t want to sleep with you.

Maybe Owen didn’t want to do more with me. Maybe he wasn’t even interested in me at all. He kissed me, didn’t feel anything, and then decided to throw me a metaphorical bone by eating my pussy. A consolation prize.

The thought made me feel profoundly empty, and I couldn’t stop wondering about it all morning.

My answer came at lunch.

Owen came walking into my office like he owned the place. Which he kind of did. My body awoke once again at the sight of him, a confusing jumble of sexual attraction and frustration and curiosity.

“You got lunch plans?” he asked.

I blinked in surprise. “I… no. I don’t.”

“Good. We’re going out. Need to discuss a few things.” He stared at me for a few seconds. “Well? Come on, let’s go.”

I grabbed my phone and followed him out of my office. Panic filled me as I wondered what excuse we would use. Yesterday, Owen and I hated each other. For us to go out to lunch together today…

Owen leaned around the corner to peer into Jude’s office. “I’m taking Amber to that lunch with the AWS guys.”

Jude removed his headphones and grimaced. “Try not to be at each other’s throats during the meeting. It’ll reflect poorly on us.”

Owen gave me a savage grin. “No promises.”
